I was supposed to check-in at the Ramada Encore Hotel on the night of July 27 upon arrival at the Doha International Airport via a 9-hour long haul flight from Manila Philippines with the President of our company.
Incidentally our flight from Manila to Doha has been delayed for hours and you couldn’t imagine how frustrating and exhausting this has been for us.
Past 2300HRS of July 27, we have arrived at the Ramada Encore Hotel to supposedly settle our room reservations for three nights.
Our reservation at Ramada Encore has been made, confirmed and secured weeks before the intended stay thru booking.com, a reliable website where most of our hotel bookings for our business trips across the Middle East regions are booked.
We felt confident that in choosing a four-star rated hotel like RAMADA Encore which came highly praised from the site booking.com as well as winning us over via their own company website and the reviews online, was sure to be the hotel we were hoping for.
We did our own research before deciding where to stay all over the Middle East and the hotels presented with four and five-star ratings are beautifully presented with appropriate photos and several positive reviews online. Hence, this helped us make our final choice and decision.
However, upon check-in, we were told by the Duty Hotel Manager that due to an uncontrolled fire incident on the same day, the hotel could not accommodate us and that we had to be moved to another hotel without prior notice.
With limited access on the flight, we had no chance to read notification emails sent by the hotel. At least a staff from the Hotel must have informed us through a mobile call.
We waited for an hour to secure relocation and re-transfer of our accommodation but to our disappointment, all hotels within the parameter are fully booked. The Duty Hotel Manager did his best to assist us and had just guaranteed that the costs will not be charged to the corporate credit card. However, no transfer of accommodation neither assistance for us to relocate had happened.
With a scheduled meeting first hour of the following day, we had no choice but settled for the nearest and reasonable hotel in town.
Until all hours of the night, we had to spend additional costs for taxis and pay DOUBLED the price of our initial booking from Ramada Encore Hotel to Oryx Rotana Hotel.
This has caused us a lot, minding the level of stress, wasted time and resources to the company.
We demand for your immediate reimbursement of the extra costs this had caused to the company.
PS: A certain Boubker D of Booking.com Customer Service Team had communicated to us, however, upon receipt of the statement of account from the bank today, there were no subtracted charges or refund claimed to the total billable costs.
