Some friendships never fade……

10 years of practicing yoga, 8 years of teaching yoga… the practice that takes me home. It’s the practice that I go to when I am my most vulnerable self and need to just focus within and then from that place it opens many doors… expansion in both body and mind

Fear is many a times demonized. However it’s the most primal emotion. Fear can be positive that it can warn you against an impending disaster and cautions you to tread carefully on a slippery road. However all fears are not equal. It is important to break down fear. Knowing your reason of fear, understanding where it’s stemming from can give us clarity whether it’s a caution message or is it stopping us from moving forward. When we start becoming fearful of every small situation in our life, then fear is holding you back. Constant fear then causes anxiety, phobias, shortness of breath etc. Take a piece of paper and write down all your fears. Next write them down if it’s helping you or stopping you. Clarity of the kind of fears we have helps us also overcome them. Writing them down can help us process and give us the awareness of the fears that need work and which ones are ready to be released.

Whoever needs to be reminded of this today, but growth is not happening in your comfort zone. True growth for the soul, where lessons are learned and wisdom gained is happening in the mystery of the unknown. Navigating through uncertainties, challenges, and the different curve balls that life throws at you.

In life there are many beautiful and close relationships but the most important one is with yourself. We end up giving, sacrificing ourselves many a times for others be it your spouse, children, parents, friends etc and that is important too for them to bloom and reach their best. However, we also have a relationship of love and respect with ourselves. If we can be kind to ourselves, chances are we can find kindness for others. If you can allow yourself to be happy, joyful, give grace, benefit of doubt, chances are you can find those same qualities in you for other relationships. No relationship is perfect including the one with ourselves, but having empathy and love towards oneself will also make us empathetic and feel love towards others relationships in our circle. relationshipadvice goals

New experiences are always terrifying. Be it a new class, a move, a relationship, a new job or a starting your new business. Trusting the process helps in taking some of the anxiety away. Don’t be afraid from being uncomfortable as truly that is where the growth is taking place. If we continue doing the same things we would get the same results so if you want to change your present, knowing that the new situation will make you uncomfortable but persevering through that uncomfortableness will give you the confidence to get through it. Life isn’t linear and knowing that helps in these situations.. women transition phases can be looked in similar ways. It’s new and makes us uncomfortable but we are learning a lot along the way.

We all have those days, when we don’t feel like exercising or eating right or walking more. If you are feeling that way give yourself a day of grace. Acknowledge the fact that you don’t feel like following your routine for that day. Don’t make that one day, 2 days or 4 days and then the weekend, that’s when you start to fall off the bandwagon. Sometimes your body needs rest and it can ask in different ways. The next morning continue your routine as usual. This idea of giving yourself space when you need it with awareness is far more productive than the all or nothing mindset. This way you will be able to make and sustain lifestyle changes that require discipline rather than motivation.

You will realize that as you come into mid-life your friend circle doesn’t grow as much. It truly starts to shrink. It shrinks because you value your time. You become picky on how you want to spend your time. There is a deep understanding that time is precious and also finite. You start focusing on yourself more but not in a selfish way but more in a self love way. You have been the people pleaser, party goer, you have been surrounded by people… you have seen it all. Now it’s time to prioritize yourself and put your attention on things that truly matter to you. You understand the concept of life being long and yet very short. Would love to hear some of your thoughts on ways you have prioritized yourself. over 40 # fitover50

Yes, hormones can play some role in weight gain but we can’t blame it on them completely. We have to take some ownership here. The weight didn’t just show up suddenly. It was weeks, months and in some cases years of different choices instead of exercising, eating healthy and moving more.

Transition time can cause hormones estrogen and progesterone to fluctuate which in turn can cause anxiousness, depression and irritability. If you feel you are becoming anxious try relaxation techniques, journal, be aware of triggers, talk to friends and family. If you are not being able to bounce back or there is constant feeling of sadness and anxiousness, speak to your healthcare provider. They may be able to help #

A few tips to help feel better during this transition time

20/03/2023

It’s normal to have feelings, beliefs or thoughts about your feelings. Some emotions might feel uncomfortable and sometimes we judge how we feel because we don’t think we should feel this way. I don’t have all the emotions written down in the post but you can sit in a quiet place and observing your emotions can give you valuable information.

16/03/2023

It’s really ironic but one has to truly find courage to sit with the emotions that we are running away from or trying to not feel….for when we sit with these emotions instead of covering them with anger and aggression but taking the time to feel the discomfort of what we are going through, to understand the different layers of that very emotion that’s when slowly but surely that deeper understanding of why and what comes through and it is only then that you can slowly start letting go of them… spending sometime sitting alone, journaling, talking out loud to oneself can all be great ways of getting a deeper understanding of what we arefeeling. ❣️ #

We all vibrate energetically at a particular frequency. Your frequency generally means an overall state of well being. If you are in pain, or feeling low and sad, it means that the energy is dense and heavy and you are vibrating at a lower frequency. If you feel joy, positive , clear and light you are probably vibrating at a higher frequency. The higher the frequency the lighter you feel in your physical, emotional and mental bodies. One researcher Bruce Tainio found that the healthy body resonates at a frequency of 62-70 MHZ and when your frequency drops to 58MHZ that’s when disease starts. Everything we say, think and feel has an energetic impact on us. When you speak well, change your thoughts for the positive it helps change the frequency of that thought and that directly impacts how we feel. You can do a simple experiment by being aware of how you are feeling to understand your frequency. If it’s high or low.

So hard and yet so necessary for success.
I have been struggling myself last couple of months being on and off….being motivated. This struggle is as much a part of life as anything else. When i see someone who is consistent, I know they are sacrificing a good nap, a glass of wine, a yummy dish to eat.. they have made choices. I am hoping I am going get there soon. Wish me luck… 🔑

This is for all of us. It’s actually quite horrific to understand at how young it starts when you start feeling not good enough. I can tell you it’s starts early. I don’t know who needs to hear this, but know that you are beautiful and enough. We are all made differently and are all beautiful in-fact that’s what make this world amazing, the uniqueness of each one of us and know that one size fits none. Time to let go of stereotypes and move forward. Time to accept ourselves and our own beauty within.

Are you dealing with anxiety when you wake up. The million to do lists, workout plans, social engagements, work etc etc time being always less than the things you wanna do. If it’s you, you are not alone. Most women have that issue whether they are stay at home women or working women. However how we start our day is very important. A single thought has the power to destabilize your entire morning and without knowing we carry that through our day. If you are having a thought that tends to shake your balance. take a pause. Take a moment to see if it’s a real worry or just another emotion coming as a thought. Whichever way, start to slow down your breath. Take a few moments of wake up time just to breathe fully. Say a small gratitude prayer for the family or for yourself and then start your day. It’s a very simple tool with quite a profound effect to create a shift. The lingering feeling may not completely go away but if you let it be just a thought instead of diving into the emotion of it, slowly you will see a shift. Try it out!

Do you know that women report not only more stress but also physical symptoms that accompany stress. Many of these symptoms including anxiety, depression and inflammation can contribute to Alzheimers disease. They can also trigger digestive issues, sleep disorders, autoimmune disease, and fibromyalgia. As a woman I know we like to constantly multi task, take control but we don’t shower ourself our own attention.

I have been passionate about health and wellness for many years. After going through my own eating binges and diets, I decided that I also wanted to work in this space so I went ahead and did my 1 year emotional eating psychology certificate program and after months of hard work and discipline it’s finally here. This doesn’t mean that the work has stopped… it never does and when you are passionate about something you want to constantly learn, experience and expand your knowledge and stay with the current trends and findings. This topic is close to my heart and when you are a seeker of knowledge, the doors open….

If you have ever tried reading the Bhagwat Geeta, you know it’s no easy feat. I have picked up this edition with a commentary by Swami Chinmayananda. A book recommended many years before by my friend@Vibhananda. This definition of dharma definitely resonates with me other than duty and righteousness #

Gratitude practice is one of the most easiest practices that makes you feel good in no time. You can make a family game of what you feel grateful for and each player gets a turn or a silent gratitude practice in solitude, both work….

One of my favorite quotes…problems and issues are part of life and as we learn everyone has their share. If you are feeling down and out today remember every problem has a solution just like after every night there is a sunrise.
