🇵🇼🌺 Palau Welcomes the 2025 Pacific Mini Games! 🌺🇵🇼
The Pacific Games began in 1963 in Suva, Fiji, as a way to bring together Pacific Island nations through sport, friendship, and cultural exchange. Over the decades, this regional event has grown into a powerful symbol of unity and island pride.
In 1981, the Pacific Mini Games were introduced to give smaller nations a chance to host and compete on a more manageable scale. Since then, the Mini Games have been held across the region, from Nukuʻalofa, Tonga (1989) to Port Vila, Vanuatu (2017) and most recently Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands (2022).
Past Pacific Mini Games host nations include:
1981: Honiara, Solomon Islands
1985: Rarotonga, Cook Islands
1989: Nukuʻalofa, Tonga
1993: Port Vila, Vanuatu
1997: Pago Pago, American Samoa
2001: Kingston, Norfolk Island
2005: Koror, Palau 🇵🇼
2009: Rarotonga, Cook Islands
2013: Mata-Utu, Wallis and Futuna
2017: Port Vila, Vanuatu
