I am very thankful for the opportunity to be invited as the youth delegate of Palau for the UN High Level Political Forum this year 2024, held in New York City

Today, Palau successfully presented our second Voluntary National Review. I was fortunate enough to be here and work with other fellow Palauan Delegates from the government, our incredible Palau UN mission team, Palau's Ambassador to the UN, Ms. Ilana Seid, and our Honorable Minister of Health and Human Services, Gaafar Uherbelau.

It was an honor to be entrusted with this role as the Youth delegate co-presenting our VNR ,with Minister Uherbelau, to report on our progress of the Sustainable Development Goals set for 2030. However the work done today could not have been accomplished without the team efforts and hard work of everyone that was here.

I am sincerely grateful to have been entrusted to speak for our youth, and I will proudly continue representing the capabilities of young Palauans as we move forward.

Thank you to our Palauan Team for including me, guiding me, and helping me through out the way. Sulang πŸ‡΅πŸ‡Ό

Last day of SIDS CYAS with our commitments only expanding with each voice πŸ’ͺ

It was an honor being part of this space and to be surrounded by so many passionate, brilliant leaders from around the world. From every regional project presented, to each individual efforts of advocacy; it was truly great exposure to all the real issues we face as the children of SIDS and the solutions we could come up with together.

I believe that our gathering was crucial for our voices to be heard, and that we all have and will continue to initiate great change around the AIS, Carribean, and Pacific regions.

This was a learning experience for me, and I plan to strengthen youth actions in my own home of Palau as I go back πŸ‡΅πŸ‡Ό

Thank you to UNICEF, The Ashley Lashley Foundation, UNFPA, UNDESA and all other sponsors for making this all possible. My appreciation goes to the Carribean region, especially Antigua and Barbuda for the wonderful hosting and experience while being there. I hope to return someday 🏝

Second day at SIDS Children Youth Action Summit opened with master classes on advocacy, strengthening youth action, negotiations, and community πŸ“–

It was an insightful experience to take part in these spaces; listening to experienced advocates passionately tell us about they're own paths. In the end seeing everyone come together and express their commitments was inspiring. The passion of influencing change for our betterment is being passed to us with amazing guidance.

Thank you, to all those who spoke to us, in and out of the master classes and proposal meetings for entrusting us as the present and future ❀️‍πŸ”₯

A big thank you to UNICEF for enabling me to be part of this one of a kind opportunity. I am proud to represent Palauan Youth in this summit and strongly beleive that all our island voices will influence change in the SIDS4 conference following this summit.

Alii and a very Happy Mother's Day!! πŸ€±πŸ’•

We are brought into this world, loved, guided, and cared for in so many ways by our mothers. They are our strength, our home, our examples and we can never thank them enough for all they do. This day is a reminder of all the sacrifice and efforts they make for us and our growth.

May this special day let us remember to always appreciate the fact that everyday is a day our mother's dedicate to us. I hope we all happily spend this day with our mother's, grandmother's, and mother figures to dedicate this day to them.

To the moms who are with us and to those who watch over us from heaven, Happy Mother's Day πŸ€—

Another successful day for the Pacific Youth Council General Assembly as 14 Pacific islands and territories came together to elect the new PYC board of directors.

A warm congratulations to the newly elected Board of Directors, and to the previous board in appreciation for all they've accomplished and done to pave the way for us.

In the spirit of our Pacific way, I am proud to see the support of new leadership, with representation from all 3 regions of Micronesia, Melanesia, and Polynesia.

Once again a big congratulations to all the newly elected board members, and my personal congratulations to Mr. Mahoney Mori and Ms. Baniti Semilota as the Micronesian representatives taking the roles of Chair and Secretary

Alii and Happy Youth Day!! ☺️

On this very important day, we are reminded to celebrate the youth and the strength they posses. The strength of our bodies, the strength of our minds and voices, and the strength of our potential, that we hold for the future. It is our responsibility to think brightly to make the right decisions, to take care of our bodies and ourselves, and to help one another, encourage each other and work together. Let us uphold the respect and kindness that is still being taught to us by those who guide us and give us our strength.

We are young, and large chapters of our lives to come are unknown, but as for my message to the youth of today, I humbly ask we continue to the right thing whenever we can, and teach the same to those around us as we grow. May we continue to not only learn and experience, but to learn from experiences. Especially to my Palauan Youth, let us not forget who we are and where we come from πŸ‡΅πŸ‡Ό

I wish everyone a safe and Happy Youth Day πŸ’™πŸ’›
