Ngermid & Ngerkesoal Town Hall Visits (06/10/2025 and 06/11/2025)

📢 Koror State Government Launches Town Hall Initiative
The Koror State Government has launched an initiative to visit all hamlets of Koror, sharing the administration’s progress since Governor Eyos Rudimch took office in January 2022. This effort aims to provide transparency, foster community engagement, and address local concerns.
The first Town Hall meeting was held on June 10 in Ngermid Hamlet followed by Ngerkesoaol Hamlet on the 11th June, where members of the Governor’s Cabinet and Legislature members. Residents in Ngermid and Ngerkesoal had the opportunity to raise questions, voice concerns, and learn about key developments in their community and in the state of Koror.
Governor Rudimch’s administration began in the aftermath of the pandemic, facing financial challenges that required strategic decision-making to stabilize the state. Among the key accomplishments:

✅ No employee layoffs despite economic uncertainties
✅ Mandated policy to use biometric time clock
✅ Mandate policy for Koror State fuel consumption
✅ Maternity & Paternity leave benefits introduced

With guidance from experts and consultants, the administration developed infrastructure improvement plans and a sustainable roadmap to ensure tourism—the state’s key revenue source—remains strong and continues to support government operations.
Governor Rudimch has worked tirelessly to enhance state infrastructure, recovery efforts, and sustainable development projects. Through quarterly reports, he has ensured that residents stay informed about completed, ongoing, and future initiatives. His efforts include:
🔹 Advancing hamlet infrastructure projects through the Legislature
🔹 Strengthening rock island conservation
🔹 Protecting job security for all state employees
These Town Hall meetings serve as an open platform for constructive dialogue, reinforcing the shared vision for Koror’s continued progress.
Stay tuned for upcoming visits, and let’s keep building a stronger, more resilient Koror together!

Next week Town Hall meetings are scheduled for Ngerchemai on 17th June and 18th June in Iyebukel Hamlet form 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and invite all to join.

Governor Eyos Rudimch was invited to join the Young Pacific Leaders Annual Conference 2025 Closing ceremony event held at the Belau Naitonal Museum on 12th June and to deliver a message to the representatives from respective Pacific island nations.

He warmly welcomed the 29 Young Pacific Leaders and 5 Alumni Mentors to Koror State, celebrating their selection and leadership potential. He emphasized Palau’s hospitality, natural beauty, and cultural richness as a backdrop for reflection and connection. Highlighting the YPL program’s role in addressing regional challenges—such as civic engagement, education, environmental stewardship, and sustainable development—he praised the spirit of unity and resilience embodied in Koror and the Rock Islands.

He underscored shared Pacific priorities like climate change, cultural preservation, and youth empowerment, calling for continued regional cooperation and inclusive dialogue. The Governor expressed gratitude to key partners, including the U.S. Department of State, Cultural Vistas, and the Reng Collective, whose work reflects the heart and spirit of the gathering. He closed by encouraging participants to carry forward their experiences, friendships, and purpose, reminding them that true leadership is defined by action and impact—not origin.

Members of the Young Pacific Leaders from Fiji, and other islands including Palau presented small gifts of appreciation to Gov. Rudimch for joining them in their final event as well as for allowing them to hold this year’s Forum here in the state of Koror.
Governor was honored to receive the gifts and assured them that they’re always welcome back to Palau for future events.
