Two years ago, a dedicated farmer from Airai took her first step into guava farming. We met her in our Palau-Taiwan Farmers Association (PTFA) meeting. With passion, patience, and perseverance, and with continuous support and guidance from TTM and BOA extension agents, she nurtured her guava trees from seedlings into fruit-bearing plants. We are glad to see her enjoying the fruits with her family.

Our Assistant Technician Wei brought his valuable experience from Taiwan to improve Palau’s current chicken🐓 manure composting method.
🧑🏻‍🔬With tailored solutions and on-site trials, he shared the results directly with the Director of Agriculture and team, hoping this innovative mindset and technique can inject new energy into Palau’s chicken manure composting sector—making it more efficient, environmentally friendly, and aligned with the goals of a circular economy! 🌍♻️

✈️ Today marks the end of his mission, and he will be flying back to Taiwan. We sincerely thank him for all his support during this time!👏🏻

🙋🏻‍♂️Wei’s Reflection from Palau💬
I’m very grateful for the opportunity to serve in Palau, known as “God’s aquarium.”
During my time here, I’ve met many outstanding leaders in the workplace and witnessed the dedication of Taiwan’s overseas personnel.
I’m also glad to have worked together with the staff at the Bureau of Agriculture on livestock-related tasks.
Working and spending time with all of you will be one of my most unforgettable memories in Palau.
I look forward to the day we meet again!🎉

Thank You Very Much!!

the soon-to-retire assistant specialist members came to the embassy to bid farewell to the ambassador 🇵🇼👋, marking the end of their days of dedication in Palau. During their time here, they made a tangible impact across various fields through their actions 🌱✨.

👨‍💻 Bruno developed a menu management and feedback system that improved the efficiency of school meal management and information sharing, and held workshops at the Ministry of Education to promote and refine the platform.🐟 Nemo conducted experiments on temperature regulation and its effects on the growth of lined rabbitfish fry, contributing to fish fry and giant clam cultivation efforts.🐔 Wei advanced the improvement of local chicken manure composting methods while participating in chicken coop management and artificial insemination.🎥 Leo produced healthy recipe instructional videos and documented various activities through filming.👨‍⚕️ Dr. Chen served at the Palau National Hospital, safeguarding the health of local residents.🍅 Boaz evaluated the effectiveness of tomato seed saving practices and participated in the daily operations of the demonstration farm.

With their expertise and passion, they have cultivated stories of growth on this island 🌿, and we believe these efforts will continue to flourish in the future 🌻. Thank you all 🙏, wishing you a joyful retirement and the best in your next chapter! 🎉✨

🎉 Honk Honk!
Our farm has welcomed its very first batch of locally hatched goslings! 🐣🇵🇼
These fluffy little cuties are the result of our dedicated incubation efforts,
marking a big step forward in Palau’s journey toward raising and producing its own livestock.
That’s why these Palau-born goslings are so meaningful to us —
and we’re excited to see them grow!

📌 Did you know?
White Roman Geese are the most widely raised goose breed in Taiwan — fast-growing, hardy, and able to reach 13 lbs in just 3 months, making them great for farming.
However, their egg production is quite limited: each female lays only 40–60 eggs per year. That’s why every gosling is precious and worth celebrating!

According to the request from the Melekeok State Government for sea cucumber farming, Taiwan Technical Mission and Bureau of Fisheries_MAFE assisted the State Government in setting up 2 experimental sea cucumber cages, the size is 5ft x 3 ft each one. We will release some sea cucumber juveniles inside. Over the next few months, we will make regular visits to observe growth of sea cucumber juveniles and evaluate feasibility for sea cucumber farming in Melekeok.

🌵🌺 New Dragon Fruit Field in Airai! 🌺🌵
After months of planning and preparing the land and cement poles, the first 2 rows of dragon fruit cuttings are now in the ground. This field is more than just an orchard—it’s a step toward growing more local produce and sharing the benefits of fresh, homegrown fruit in Palau.
We hope to see his first juicy dragon fruit by next year! 💚🧡❤️

🎉 Happy Friday! 🐥
We’re thrilled to welcome some adorable new residents to our farm — Hy-Line white layer chicks all the way from Taiwan! 🇹🇼✨

These chicks belong to a high-performing commercial layer breed, and today we put our feather sexing skills to the test! 🔍💡
(Note: this method works only for special commercial breeds.)

In just 🐔 6 months, these healthy chicks will be ready to help farmers grow their own flock of productive layers — bringing us one step closer to a more sustainable, locally produced egg supply! 🐣♻️🥚

🚫 No boar? No problem! You can still produce your own piglets!
Although You don’t keep any boars on your farm, we’re successfully using fresh semen for artificial insemination (AI) to get your sows pregnant and farrowing right on schedule.
✅ Here’s why it works so well:
🔹 No need to feed or house a boar — saves space and feed costs
🔹 Reduces the risk of disease transmission
🔹 Access to high-quality boar genetics for better piglets
🔹 More control over breeding time and safer for handlers
Just closely monitor sows for signs of heat, then inseminate using fresh semen delivered on the same day. The results? Just as good — or even better — than natural mating!
📌 Even small farms can run a successful breeding program. With the right know-how, you don’t need a boar to raise strong, healthy piglets!
