Sermon Topic: The Place of Fathers
Bible Text: Genesis 18:10–19
Today’s sermon focused on the place of fathers in God’s plan for the family and society. We were reminded that God is our Father and we can always pour our hearts out to Him.
We also learned about the different types of fathers:
• God the Father: Our Heavenly Father.
• Biological fathers: Fathers who contribute biologically to the birth of a child.
• Spiritual fathers: Fathers who provide spiritual covering and support in the place of prayer.
• Father figures.
• Stepfathers.
Some of the responsibilities of fathers include:
• Provision.
• Loving their households.
• Intentional leadership.
We also learned our responsibilities as children:
• Sow into their lives.
• Pray for them.
• Encourage them.
• Honour them.
• Celebrate them.
• Make them proud.
