DAEDALUS is a technologically enhanced tool conceived for meeting the needs of young residents seeking employment in the labour markets of the Mediterranean Sea Basin by enhancing their career and business opportunities and matching their qualifications and skills with existing needs in neig

hboring countries. The Daedalus portal allows young people, entrepreneurs, ICT companies, online business, regional and local employment associations to enter a cross-border platform where matching labour market demand and supply and meeting a valuable pool of young people and professionals across the Mediterranean area

How the Daedalus project works
DAEDALUS supports a platform that integrates information sharing, the dissemination of business content and career advising methodologies through a comprehensive and multi-media plan. Youth empowerment, economic justice and decent working conditions for all, are the main topics addressed by information activities and awareness raising campaigns, as means to promote citizenship rights throughout the Mediterranean basin, at national, regional and international level. Information and communication activities address the objectives to raise awareness, mobilize citizens and activate participation of public authorities and target groups on the labour market issues at cross-border EU-Mediterranean level as well as to foster the use of innovative technological tools to promote access to labour opportunities, youth mobility, capacity building. A properly-designed Decision Support service helps users for the compilation of information, for the adoption of innovative business models and for the exchange of know-how at a cross-border level in order to help users reach efficient decisions. Beyond an ordinary platform
Daedalus offers location-based services representing career and employment opportunities that are dispersed throughout the Mediterranean basin. The integration of GIS and web conferencing technologies, and the cross-border nature of the project, are the main features of a proposal considered as a useful and valuable tool for the users. DAEDALUS endeavours to become a valuable portal targeting the wider EU-Mediterranean basin. DAEDALUS services should be used by young people and entrepreneurs, public administrators, NGOs, policy makers and all involved stakeholders.
