This is a Authentic Betzalel spice tower. Notice the בצלאל ירושלם marking. The absense of the letter yud allows us to determine it being prior to 1948. Upon the foundation of the state of Israel ירושלים was spelled with two yud's.
Betzalel was founded in the year 1906 by Boris Schatz with the blessing of Hertzl. The goal of Betzalel was to produce Hebrew designed art filled with a newly found Jewish spirit.
I am always looking to buy old Betzalel pieces as well as many other beautiful things. Let me know if you have items of interest.
This gold framed cameo is hand carved in relief and portrays a beautiful maiden. Cameos go back to the 3rd century BC when the Greeks were making them out of stone.
Sir Wallis Budge alleged that the cameo got its name from the kaballistic term kamea (amulet)
When it comes to Cameos condition is of utmost importance. The quality of the carving and what is represented is also integral in determining value.
Let me know if you have any of these you would like to sell.
An antique baluster shaped silver cup from Austria. This cup is perfectly shaped for the palm of ones hand. The designer wanted to emphasize the silver's natural reflective beauty and therefore left this cup completely non ornate. The cup dates to 1830 as can be seen on the underside of the cup. Both the owners initials and the makers mark are engraved into the underside of the cup. A true antique design full to the brim with history.
Contact me if you have interesting pieces you would like to sell.
A 6 setter of this beautifully executed sterling dessert silverware. We have a cake fork, butter knife, grapefruit spoon and of course a classic tea spoon. Quite a splendid way to enjoy the end of a celebratory meal.
If you have silverware, I buy
A Russian, silver besamim tower from 1880. Many times on Russian silver the year is stamped right next to the hall mark. Be careful when buying these rarer Judaica pieces from a dealer you do not know. There are many fakes on the market. It requires an expert to determine the authenticity of an item. Old Judaica items demand high premiums due to a huge emphasis on tradition in Jewish culture.
If you have any items that are not being used and you believe them to have value then contact me !!!!
Gold Judaic pendants with an Italian 14k bracelet. We all have these in our homes. Tons of this stuff was bought in Israel by tourists in the last couple decades. With gold close to 1300$ an ounce these really can add up to alot of money.
Take a look at the colorful enamel decorated mezuza.
A silver gold plated necklace, hand made by Shevach
Bros. Shevach has been making Yemanite jewelry and silver for many years. They currently have a store in the Mamilla market.
An old brass ink well, seemingly French. Brass has a beautiful patina that has made it collectable throughout the ages. Notice the stern face of the boy in the center. The quality of the cast work will determine it's value. This one is mediocre +
I am always interested in interesting brass
These are old German rosh hashana cards. One can get a real idea of how the holiday was just by looking at these. Notice the mother and her daughter taking part in the mitsvah. Not the typical image that comes up when thinking of pre war Europe!!
The embroidered piece is american. Someone decided to frame the two together.
These cards vary in value depending on how interesting the scene depicted is and the condition of the card.
I am interested in all old Judaica. That includes even old letters with interesting historical significance.
