WE ARE TEACHING HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ABOUT ENERGY!

The Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw arranged a workshop in Poland! These high school students already know what perovskite solar cell is and that Saule Technologies is one of the first companies in the world which is going to commercialise this invention. They also had an opportunity to learn about wind energy, hydropower, energy storage and the threat of climate change.
After a theoretical lecture they built their own electrical circuits in order to understand how solar panels work.
It was a pleasure! A million thanks for the Faculty of Physics at the University of Warsaw (Wydział Fizyki Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego) for giving us an access to a lecture room!

Check out e.on’s spectacular project; the Iron Horse! They’ve created a reliable energy storage and solar system. It’s a 10 megawatt (MW) storage facility and 2 megawatt (MW) solar array. The goal is to help Tucson Electric Power (an electric utility company serving southern Arizona), to maintain reliable and consistent electric services for over 400k customers.
The project is located in North America at the University of Arizona’s Science and Technology park in South-East Tucson.

They have reached an efficiency exceeding 23% which is comparable to most widespread, silicon based technology. Furthermore, benefits of this type of solar cells are, among others, their potential flexibility and a possibility to apply ink-jet printing techniques to produce a device, which considerably decreases the cost of production.
