🔧 Tool of the Week: Zeek (Bro)
🕵️♂️ What is Zeek?
Zeek (formerly known as Bro) is a powerful network monitoring tool that goes beyond packet capture. Instead of just collecting data, it gives deep insights into network behavior.
✅ With Zeek, you can:
📊 Detect suspicious traffic in real-time
🔎 Analyze protocols (HTTP, DNS, SSL, etc.)
🛡️ Spot anomalies, intrusions, and malware activity
⚡ Unlike Wireshark, Zeek doesn’t just show you packets… it interprets network activity and helps you understand what’s really happening.
💡 Hackers hide in traffic. Zeek helps you see them.

"Free USB Stick? Congrats, You Just Hacked Yourself."
Scenario: You find an unmarked USB in the wild. Your brain says:
❌ "Maybe it’s bitcoin!"
❌ "Could be someone’s homework!"
✅ Hacking Mindset says: "This is how ransomware parties start."
⚡ The Reality:
· 48% of people plug in random USBs (University of Illinois study)
· 1 second to infect = 300 hours to clean up
· Your "curiosity" is their #1 exploit
🚀 Think Like a Hacker:
✔️ Carry a $5 USB data blocker (the condom for your ports)
✔️ Use a burner VM if you must see what’s inside
✔️ Smash it with a hammer → best stress relief
💬 Comment your move:
1. "I’d plug it in… for science" 👨🔬
2. "I’d yeet it into the sun" ☀️

ParamSpider, a new open source tool, automates the discovery of parameters in URL addresses, a key step in probing websites and applications for vulnerabilities. Developed by indie security researcher Devansh Batham (aka Asm0d3us), the tool scrapes the parameters of a target website using the Internet Archive API.

theHarvester is another tool like sublist3r which is developed using Python. This tool can be used by pe*******on testers for gathering information of emails, sub-domains, hosts, employee names, open ports, and banners from different public sources like search engines, PGP key servers, and SHODAN computer database.
SQLmap is an open-source tool used in pe*******on testing to detect and exploit SQL injection flaws. SQLmap automates the process of detecting and exploiting SQL injection. SQL Injection attacks can take control of databases that utilize SQL.
