Is OLT a switch or router?
OLT is used to connect to the optical fiber trunk line. It functions as a switch or router in a traditional communication network. The most important ex*****on functions are traffic scheduling, buffer control, and providing user-oriented passive optical network interfaces and allocating broadband.

An optical line terminal (OLT), or fiber OLT, acts as the endpoint hardware device in a passive optical network for telecommunications companies.

OLT stands for Optical Line Terminal. An OLT is the device that serves as your ISPs endpoint of the passive optical network (PON). The OLT also provides the interface between a PON and your ISP's core network.

The configuration of OLT include pvid and vlan of ge port, vlan of pon port. Enable the vlan function Configure pvid and vlan for GE port vlan mode include untag and tag. Configure pvid and vlan for PON port vlan mode include untag and tag.
