Pakistani security forces killed 31 Khwarij linked to the Indian-backed group, Fitna al Khwarij, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on September 13–14, ISPR said Monday.
An intelligence-based operation was launched in Lakki Marwat District after reports of militant presence.
Security forces engaged the militants’ hideout, leading to a heavy exchange of fire.
Fourteen Indian-sponsored Khwarij were killed during the clash.
The operation highlights ongoing counter-terrorism efforts in the region.

Pakistan is considering boycotting the remaining Asia Cup 2025 fixtures if the International Cricket Council (ICC) does not replace match referee Andy Pycroft.

The dispute arose during the high-stakes Pakistan-India clash when Pycroft allegedly instructed Pakistan’s captain, Salman Ali Agha, not to shake hands after the game.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has strongly objected to the move, calling it a violation of ICC regulations and an insult to the spirit of the game.
Sources suggest the PCB is weighing its options and could withdraw from the tournament if corrective action is not taken by the ICC.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Qatar on Monday to attend the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha, aimed at formulating a joint response to Israel’s recent airstrikes on the Qatari capital.

The summit, co-sponsored by Pakistan, comes amid heightened tensions in Palestine, including Israeli strikes on Doha, efforts to seize Gaza, expanding settlements in the West Bank, and the forced displacement of Palestinians.

Ali Zafar, who presided over the meeting here, emphasised that no citizen should be prosecuted unlawfully after the amendment made to the law.

To ensure compliance, the committee constituted a sub-committee to oversee the implementation of this ruling.

LAHORE: An extremely high flood threatened to engulf Jalal­pur Pirwala, a tehsil of Multan district, as the water level in the Chenab River continued to rise on Sunday. Authorities evacuated residents from the city, which has a population of around 500,000, while in Multan, several boat operators were arrested for safety violations amid the worsening situation.

The emergency measure at Qadirabad dam on the Chenab River aimed to reduce water pressure and prevent structural failure amid unprecedented monsoon flooding.

ISLAMABAD Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived in Islamabad on Wednesday for a three-day official visit at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, according to a statement issued by the Foreign Office.
Dar received Yi at Nur Khan Airbase, where senior officials from the foreign ministry and the Chinese Embassy were also present.
A group of children in traditional attire welcomed the guest of honour with flowers.
