Human Rights Protection Foundation. (HRPF) RAISES CONCERNS OVER RISING CRIMES AND POOR INVESTIGATIONS IN P/S KUTHIALA SHEIKHAN DISTRICT M.B.DIN.
The Human Rights Protection Foundation (HRPF) remains committed to upholding human rights and promoting transparency within institutions. In light of the alarming rise in serious crimes and the lack of cooperation from investigative officers at Police Station Kuthiala Sheikhan, District Mandi Bahauddin, HRPF formally expressed its concerns to the Inspector General of Punjab Police, Lahore.
Responding to these concerns, the worthy IG Punjab appointed SSP (IAB) Gujranwala as the inquiry officer. A detailed inquiry report was subsequently prepared and submitted to AIG(Inspection), Lahore (under Reference No. 2174/INQ Dated 04-11-2024.)
Following the findings of the inquiry, AIG(Inspection) Punjab Police Lahore twice issued letters to the RPO Gujranwala, directing departmental action against the concerned Sub-Inspector and ASI for conducting a substandard investigation. The SSP(IAB) Gujranwala also recommended the transfer of the Sub-Inspector from Police Station Kathiala Sheikhan and instructed that justice be ensured for the complainants based on merit.
(Reference No. 1213/INQ Dated 24-12-2024
Reminder No. 211/INQ Dated 19-02-2025.)
Despite repeated directives, bureaucratic delays and traditional negligence persist. HRPF has now issued a letter to the Inspector General of Police, Punjab, urging immediate action.
It is a harsh reality that the fundamental cause of rising serious crimes in Mandi Bahauddin is the extremely flawed investigation system. Investigating officers show no genuine interest in resolving cases on merit. Alarmingly, a "private writer" is preparing all case documents and challans for the entire police station, which is a matter of grave concern for senior authorities.
HRPF remains resolute in its mission to advocate for justice and accountability and will continue its efforts to ensure transparency in law enforcement.
