Transforming Lives Through Water Access in Gujjar Khan ๐Ÿ’ง

The Rural Development Foundation of Pakistan (RDF) team successfully carried out a 2-day needs assessment on April 01โ€“02, 2026, in Village Gorsiyan, Union Council Rama, Tehsil Gujjar Khan, District Rawalpindi.

By engaging directly with the community through household-level interviews, Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), the team identified key WASH challenges and prioritiesโ€”laying the foundation for a resilient water supply initiative.
Aligned with SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, and contributing to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 5: Gender Equality, and SDG 13: Climate Action, this effort reflects a commitment to inclusive, sustainable, and community-driven development.

Empowering lives through skills, dignity, and opportunity โœจ

On 10 March, 2026, The Rural Development Foundation of Pakistan (RDF), in collaboration with Pak Aid Welfare Trust (PAWT), organized โ€œEmpowering Orphan Girls through Skills and Livelihoods.โ€
Through this initiative, orphan girls were provided with sewing machines, enabling them to learn practical skills and move towards a more independent and secure future. Iftar boxes were also distributed, sharing the spirit of compassion and support during the blessed month of Ramadan.

๐ŸŒฑ Agricultural Land Management (SALM) Workshop Successfully Concludes!

The Rural Development Foundation (RDF) successfully conducted a 5-day Agricultural Land Management (SALM) workshop for PPAF participants from 2nd to 5th February 2026, culminating in a certificate distribution ceremony.

This initiative was implemented in collaboration with the National Centre for Rural Development (NCRD) and the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF). RDF extends sincere gratitude to both organizations for their support and partnership in promoting sustainable land management practices.

๐ŸŒฟ Field-Based Capacity Building Activity | Chakwal & Ghora Gali | February 2026

The Rural Development Foundation (RDF) implemented an Advanced Capacity Building Program on Climate-Resilient Agroforestry and Sustainable Agricultural Land Management (SALM) for PPAF stakeholders in February 2026.
As part of the program, technical field visits were organized to Bakhshi Wala Forest (Chakwal) and Ghora Gali, featuring live demonstrations of climate-resilient plantation practices and hands-on application of the CCR technique. The activity was conducted in strategic collaboration with the National Centre for Rural Development (NCRD) to strengthen practical learning and field-level capacity enhancement.

On February 3, 2026 at NCRD Islamabad of the Climate Resilient Agroforestry Workshop continued with insightful technical sessions.
Mr. Mahmood Nasir delivered a presentation on Climate Resilient Farming and PKNK, followed by Mr. Shaukat, who highlighted Sustainable Land Management (SALM) through the lens of water efficiency and climate change.
The day concluded with Mr. Hasnain Shah, who discussed the role of social sciences in agroforestry and shared valuable insights about NARC Islamabad.
Strengthening knowledge, integrating science, and building climate-smart solutions for sustainable agriculture.

Participants from PPAF Islamabad were trained in collaboration with RDF Islamabad, focusing on sustainable land management and climate-resilient practices.

๐ŸŽ‰ RDF Holds Its 47th Annual General Meeting (AGM)
The Rural Development Foundation (RDF) successfully convened its 47th Annual General Meeting on Saturday, January 10, 2026. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Javed Sadiq Malik, Chairman of RDF, and brought together esteemed Board Members, the Technical Adviser, senior management, and dedicated members of the RDF team.

๐Ÿ” The AGM reflected on key achievements accomplished in 2025 and presented a forward-looking strategic roadmap for 2026, reaffirming RDFโ€™s commitment to community-driven development, empowerment, and long-term sustainability. The session underscored the collective resolve to strengthen institutional impact and advance inclusive and resilient development initiatives.
