US President Donald Trump has been accused of pressuring Gulf allies to pay trillions of dollars to finance and sustain the escalating US‑led war against Iran, according to Omani journalist and international affairs expert Salem Al‑Jahouri in an interview with BBC Arabic on March 20.

In the interview, the BBC correspondent asked Al‑Jahouri about recent reports that the White House was exerting financial and military pressure on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states to increase their participation in the conflict with Iran.

Al‑Jahouri confirmed the claims, stressing that “the Gulf states are facing intense pressure from the United States.”
