The Fast Rural Development Program (FRDP) and MASHAL signed an MoU; both organizations will work together to scale up free mental health and psychosocial support services!

The partnership is aimed at Community Mental Health Clinics, Psychiatric & Psychological Services, Tele-Mental Health, School and Workplace Wellbeing, Su***de Prevention, Research and Training, and Advocacy, with the support of valued partners.

Fast Rural Development Program, in partnership with Concern Worldwide and in close coordination with the District Administration Sukkur, jointly visited the Health and Education facilitie require immediate WASH services under the Anticipatory Action for Resilience of the Most Vulnerable Communities of District Sukkur, Sindh Project.

The rehabilitation activities included the restoration of latrines, handwashing, and water schemes in potential relief camps established in schools, BHUs, public buildings, and communal facilities. These interventions were carried out to ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of families internally displaced during the challenging flood period.

FRDP, jointly with Concern Worldwide and the District Administration of Sukkur, remains committed to strengthening community resilience and enhancing emergency preparedness through proactive and coordinated action. The project aims to enhance the flood resilience of vulnerable 1000 households in Sukkur by the timely provision of anticipatory support (improved coordination, provision of food, fodder, Multipurpose Cash Assistance, livestock vaccination, evacuation, restoration of WASH facilities) to reduce immediate risks to health, livelihoods, and assets during flood events.

The celebrations included a special gathering at the FRDP Head Office, vibrant community celebrations, and a memorable Independence Day celebration in Shaheed Benazirabad. 🇵🇰

Meanwhile, FRDP Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, also celebrated the day with the wonderful students of Aisha Academy, fostering patriotism, unity, and love for Pakistan among the younger generation. 📚🇵🇰

🌡️ Strengthening Heatwave Response Through Door-to-Door Assessments

As part of the HOIFA Heatwave Response Project in Shaheed Benazirabad, our dedicated field teams are actively conducting door-to-door household assessments in vulnerable communities to identify households most at risk from the impacts of extreme heat.

From 2–7 August 2026, our field teams reached communities across the targeted areas and successfully completed 603 household assessments.

The door-to-door assessment is an important step in ensuring that our heatwave response is needs-based, inclusive, and targeted. Through direct engagement with households, the team is collecting essential information to better understand vulnerabilities, exposure to extreme heat, household conditions, and priority needs.

This field-level data will help inform the identification of vulnerable households and support the delivery of timely and appropriate heatwave response interventions, ensuring that assistance reaches those who need it most.

A big appreciation to our field team for their commitment, teamwork, and tireless efforts in reaching communities and completing the assessments within the planned timeframe. 🤝
