Narendra Modi is the leading politician of Gujarat, from Bharatiya Janata Party, he promotes Gujarat worldwide with his leadership quality and dynamism.
Born in a very humble background of a middle class family, he had an inclination for volunteering from a very young age. His formal induction in social service started as a ‘Pracharak’(organizer) of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a socio-cultural organization, dedicated to the service of the nation. After serving in the RSS for about a decade and a half, he entered mainstream politics in 1987
with joining the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), a national leading political party of India. Owing to his excellent organizing capabilities, he was designated on the level of General Secretary of the Gujarat unit within a year. BJP was then a strong opposition party. Between 1988 and 1995, Namo successfully carried out the necessary groundworkfor making ‘Gujarat BJP’ the ruling party of the state and hence was recognized as a ‘master strategist’. In 1995, he was made the National Secretary of the party and was in charge of five major states in India– a rare distinction. Promoted as the General Secretary (Organization), in 1998, he revamped the party organization in many states and also served as the spokesperson at the national level, till being entrusted the role of leading Gujarat in October 2001. As the longest serving Chief minister of Gujarat, he has proved that “Good Governance is also Good Politics”. Not only that, he has been a trend setter in the paradigm shift from appeasement politics to developmental politics.
