Gilgit, 2 September ,2024:Karakoram International University is immensely proud to announce that Dr. Asad Ullah, Associate Professor of Mathematics and Director of the Graduate School, has been honored with the prestigious International Young Scientist Award, the "Obada Prize 2024," in recognition of his outstanding research and scholarly work. This prestigious accolade is a significant testament to Dr. Asad Ullah's remarkable contributions to the scientific and broader academic community.
The Obada Prize, supported by the African Academy of Sciences (North Africa Branch), was initiated in honor of Professor Abdel-Shafy Obada, recognizing and encouraging innovative, interdisciplinary research that cuts across traditional boundaries and paradigms.
Vice-Chancellor of Karakoram International University, Professor Dr. Attaullah Shah, extended his warmest congratulations to Dr. Asad Ullah on this exceptional achievement, expressing that it serves as a source of immense pride for the university. Professor Dr. Attaullah lauded Dr. Asad's invaluable contributions, acknowledging him as one of the university's most distinguished assets and an inspiration for aspiring young scientists. He further remarked, "To achieve excellence in life, one must possess a great deal of hard work, commitment, and passion. Selfless dedication is essential for success."
Dr. Asad Ullah is currently serving as the Director of the Graduate School at KIU. Prior to this, he served as Chairman of the Department of Mathematical Sciences for seven years, where he played an instrumental role in the department's advancement.
Dr. Asad Ullah has already been recognized with several national and international awards, including the "Dr. M. Raziuddin Siddiqi Prize & Gold Medal in Mathematics" (for Scientists under 40) from the Pakistan Academy of Sciences in 2023, the "2nd Prize in Natural Sciences" from the Chinese Society for Stereology and Image Analysis, and the "2021 TMS Light Metals and Extraction & Processing Divisions Energy Best Paper Award" from TMS, USA. Additionally, Dr. Asad Ullah has published more than 90 research articles in well reputed high impact international journals and conferences. He holds the esteemed position of Chief Editor for the "Journal of Mountain Areas Research," recognized by the Higher Education Commission, and serves as an editor for several reputable international impact factor journals.
