Going inside the Alta Tierra Village you will see this majestic church standing at the center of the subdivision main entrance.
The chapel was founded in 1977 and consecrated in 1986. It become an independent parish in 1988 and elevated to archdiocesan shrine of the patroness in 2013.
The church features a modern-neoclassical design rather than the traditional Spanish colonial churches. The facade is symetrical with a dome and a budded cross.

THE SCHOOL THAT HOUSES THE FAMOUS LIZARES MANSION.
When talking about Lizares Mansion, the next that will come to your mind is Angelicum. Or the other way around. Both names are associated with each other.
Angelicum School came after 1978 when the Lizares Mansion was acquired by the Dominicans in 1962 and transformed it into House of Formation. When Fr. Rogelio B. Alarcon, O.P., pioneered the non-graded, open classroom education system in the Philippines, Angelicum School Iloilo is one of the two that was established in the country. The first Angelicum School is now UST Angelicum College in Quezon City founded in 1972.
In 2020, Angelicum School Iloilo intially announced to cease operation due to uncertainties of COVID-19 pandemic but it was later recalled and remained open.
Every December of the year, the school specifically the Lizares Mansion become a Christmas attraction for its Sigaboom festival of lights.

WHY MOST OF THE PLAZAS HAS STATUE OF DR. JOSE RIZAL?
Dr. Jose Rizal monuments are common in Philippine plazas to symbolize and celebrate Philippine Independence after Spanish-American War. This come after the passage of a bill mandating the creation of National Monument in Manila following the take over of the Americans.
An establishment of national figure was the key priority to create a national consciousness and sense of patriotism. Then, Dr. Jose Rizal was declared a National Hero. He was the "ideal figure" to represent "being a Filipino" as his death and martyrdom triggered the revolution.
The first Rizal monument was in Daet, Camarines Norte erected on December 39, 1898. The grand Rizal monument standing in Luneta Park today was dedicated in 1913.
In Iloilo City, you can find the over century old statue of Dr. Jose Rizal in Plaza Libertad. It was built in December 30, 1917.
Today, we celebrate Rizal's 165th birth anniversary.
