That condition is called false pregnancy (pseudopregnancy).

🔍 What causes it?
Most cases are due to hormonal imbalance, especially when:
• Early embryos die
• The hormone progesterone remains high
• The sow’s body “thinks” she is still pregnant

Other factors include:
• Stress (heat, transport, poor nutrition)
• Poor heat detection or wrong mating time
• Mild uterine infections
