BEYOND FINANCE: JFINEX JOINS HANDS WITH THE LA UNION DYNAMIC LIONS CLUB

The Junior Financial Executives (JFINEX) – Union Christian College Chapter is proud to have partnered with the La Union Dynamic Lions Club for Pannakaamiris: The San Fernando City, La Union Short Film Festival 2026, held on September 5–6, 2026.

As one of the participating organizations, JFINEX had the privilege of running a booth throughout the two-day event. This supported the La Union Dynamic Lions Club in creating a meaningful space for students, young leaders, artists, and community members to unite and celebrate local talent.

This partnership extends beyond a single event—it reflects our shared commitment to youth involvement, community engagement, and supporting local artists and initiatives that drive a positive impact.

We sincerely thank the La Union Dynamic Lions Club for trusting JFINEX and granting us the opportunity to collaborate in this meaningful celebration of creativity and local storytelling.

The future of work is here, and the Philippines is stepping up to lead the way! At the recent JA Philippines Forum on Artificial Intelligence, Innovation, & the Future of Work, students from the Junior Financial Executives along with faculty from the School of Business Sciences of Union. Christian College gained groundbreaking insights on how AI is transforming education, local industries, and career paths. Opening the Visionary AI Education series, Mr. Gary Garcia, presenting on behalf of Q Software Research Corporation led by Program Director Mr. Efren Silva, emphasized that AI is not here to replace educators, but to empower them. By automating routine administrative tasks, AI frees up teachers to focus on mentoring, inspiring, and connecting with students as the true learning architects of the modern era.

Moving into industry adoption, Mr. Carlos Tan of Blue Biz Learning outlined how AI is reshaping governance, software development, and workforce capabilities across the country. With over 92 percent of Philippine organizations actively exploring AI alongside milestones like the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas AI governance framework, technology is quickly becoming an engine for daily progress. From smart financial app tools to Vibe Coding, where anyone can build functional web applications using simple conversational Taglish prompts, AI tools are making technical creation accessible to everyone.

Focusing on digital innovation and emerging careers, Ms. Arlynne Roa Awayan addressed the profound shift as the workforce transitions into the era of Agentic AI, featuring autonomous systems capable of managing complex workflows from start to finish. With the local AI market projected to reach 1 billion dollars by 2030, automation is set to create tens of millions of new positions worldwide, proving that when viewed as a partner rather than a threat, AI amplifies human potential, creativity, and progress.

On March 28, 2026, the Union Christian College – School of Business Sciences Student Body Organization (SBS-SBO), in collaboration with JFINEX, JIFA, and JESICS, successfully conducted the Bookkeeping, Education, and Skills Training Program at Union Christian College. The initiative aimed to equip the SK Council and Barangay Kagawads of Sta. Monica, Bauang, La Union with essential knowledge in budgeting and financial management.

JFINEX played a key role in facilitating discussions on the Budget of Expenditures and Sources of Financing, emphasizing transparency, accountability, and responsible use of public funds. Participants were also introduced to Microsoft Excel as a tool for efficient budget preparation and monitoring.

Through hands-on activities and discussions, JFINEX contributed to strengthening financial literacy and promoting effective, community-based leadership,reinforcing its commitment to empowering future and grassroots leaders through practical financial education.
