The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board - Region VII issues 𝐖𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨. 𝐑𝐎𝐕𝐈𝐈-𝟐𝟔 providing for an increase of PhP 37 to PhP 47 per day for Private Workers in Region VII. Effective 𝟎𝟒 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, the new daily minimum wage rates are 𝐏𝐡𝐏 𝟓𝟒𝟎 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐀 and 𝐏𝐡𝐏 𝟓𝟎𝟎 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐁.

- an act amending Republic Act 7698 to declare August 6 of every year a Special Non-Working Public Holiday in the Province of Cebu including the Cities of Cebu, Mandaue and Lapu-lapu

Samboan Historical Event: In 1968, Dra. Beatriz Durano-Calderon took her Oath of Office as Samboan Municipal Mayor before then Governor Rene Espina of Cebu. She served Samboan from 1968 to 1985 and goes on as Cebu Vice-Governor from 1985-1986. In photo with her husband then Congressman Emerito “Tito” Calderon (Black Suit) together with their four Children: Marissa Jude, Twins Raymond & Peter and Tito-Tito Jr.
Dra. Beatriz Durano hailed from Danao City in Northern Cebu and married former Samboan Mayor (2016-2020) Atty. Emerito S. Calderon. The latter died in December of 2020.
Dra. Beatriz D. Calderon died last July 26, 2025 in Cebu City with her family by her side. May she Rest in Heavenly Peace!
