𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: Personnel of Coast Guard Station Romblon and Coast Guard Sub-Station Romblon conducted beach patrol operations in various coastal areas and resorts within the Municipality of Romblon today, 29 May 2026.

During the patrol, the team observed the presence of dragon thimble jellyfish along certain shorelines that may cause skin irritation and rashes upon contact. In response, PCG personnel immediately coordinated with resort operators and coastal residents to raise public awareness and promote safety precautions.

The public is advised to avoid swimming in affected areas until the presence of the jellyfish subsides.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊:Demonstrating its commitment to ensuring maritime safety and strengthening community engagement, personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Odiongan, in coordination with Coast Guard Mobile Post (CGMP) Ferrol, conducted a mobile registration activity for the Safety, Security and Environmental Numbering (SSEN) System at Brgy. Poblacion, Ferrol, Romblon on 21 May 2026.

The activity aimed to facilitate the registration of local boat owners and operators while increasing awareness of the importance and benefits of the SSEN System in promoting maritime safety, security monitoring, and environmental protection.

This initiative was conducted under the Philippine Coast Guard’s ICARE Program (Intensified Community Assistance, Awareness, Response and Enforcement), which aims to strengthen public awareness and encourage community participation in ensuring a safer maritime environment.

This special occasion serves as a tribute to all mothers who play an important role in nurturing their children and supporting their loved ones, especially those who stand beside Coast Guard personnel in the fulfillment of their duties and responsibilities.

𝐉𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐓 𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐈-𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐆𝐀𝐋 𝐋𝐎𝐆𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐈𝐍 𝐒𝐀𝐍 𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐎, 𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐁𝐋𝐎𝐍

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: Coast Guard Sub Station (CGSS) Cajidiocan, Coast Guard Sub Station (CGSS) Magdiwang, and the DENR Sibuyan Sub-Station conducted a joint anti-illegal logging operation that resulted in the confiscation of six (6) pieces of abandoned undocumented lumber and round logs at Sitio Punong, Brgy. Agtiwa, San Fernando, Romblon on 07 May 2026.

The recovered forest products, consisting of Bangkal and Ilang-Ilang species, totaled 662.2 board feet with an estimated market value of Php 26,488.00. The confiscated items were seized for violation of Section 77 of Presidential Decree No. 705, otherwise known as the Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines.

The confiscated lumber and round logs were subsequently turned over to the DENR impounding area in Brgy. Tampayan, Magdiwang, Romblon for safekeeping and proper disposition.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The Philippine Coast Guard, through Coast Guard Station Romblon, together with concerned government agencies, successfully ensured the safe arrival, conduct of boarding formalities, and orderly departure of the international cruise ship M/S SH Minerva on 07 May 2026.

The coordinated efforts of the Philippine Coast Guard and partner agencies ensured the efficient processing of passengers and crew while maintaining maritime safety, port security, and compliance with international maritime protocols throughout the vessel’s port call in Romblon Province.

Passengers were also given the opportunity to explore the province’s tourist attractions, including the world-renowned Bonbon Beach, known for its crystal-clear waters and scenic beauty.

The successful visit of M/S SH Minerva further highlights Romblon’s growing recognition as an emerging cruise tourism destination in the country.

𝐉𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐓 𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐈-𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐆𝐀𝐋 𝐋𝐎𝐆𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐈𝐍 𝐒𝐀𝐍 𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐎, 𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐁𝐋𝐎𝐍

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: A joint anti-illegal logging operation by CGSS Cajidiocan, DENR Sibuyan Sub-Station, and San Fernando MPS led to the confiscation of undocumented timber along the shoreline of Brgy. Campalingo, San Fernando, Romblon on 29 April 2026.

The team acted on information from DENR, resulting in the discovery of two (2) abandoned round timbers of lauan species and one (1) motor banca without a name and SSEN number.

Based on DENR assessment, the timber measured approximately 40 board feet with an estimated value of ₱19,800.00, while the motor banca was valued at ₱70,000.00, with a total estimated value of ₱89,800.00.

The confiscation was conducted for violation of Section 77 of Presidential Decree No. 705. All items were turned over to the DENR impounding area in Magdiwang, Romblon for proper disposition. Authorities continue to intensify monitoring and enforcement operations in coastal and forested areas to prevent illegal logging activities and protect the province’s natural resources.
