Every time I do one of these, I learn something.

This challenge started with one simple prompt:
"Generate a vintage ad poster for the Cartier Tank."

AI gave me one idea. I had another.

The fun part wasn't comparing the results.
It was figuring out why I kept making certain choices.

Why I moved things around.
Why I removed some details.
Why I left empty space.

In the end, I wasn't designing around the watch.
I was designing around the feeling I wanted people to leave with.

And I think that's my favorite part of the whole process.

Sometimes one project naturally leads to another.

The perfume poster from my last post started as a simple design challenge.

But I couldn't stop thinking about the brand behind it.

So I built RUNE.

A fictional fragrance brand and visual identity inspired by nature and quiet luxury.

One thing I kept coming back to while designing was the feeling.

I wanted every visual to feel cinematic, like a quiet moment from a film rather than a traditional advertisement.

Soft light, natural textures, simple compositions.

The kind of atmosphere that lets the brand breathe.

I hope you enjoy this little case study as much as I enjoyed creating it.

I wanted to continue this little series.
So I gave us another challenge.

The prompt was simple:
"Create a premium poster design using this bottle."

What came out wasn't one "right" solution.
Just two different ways of approaching the same idea.

And honestly, that's what I love about design.
It's not just about making something look good.

It's about deciding what story you want people to see first.

The FIRST DESIGN was generated by AI.
The SECOND DESIGN was designed by me.

I asked AI to create this.
Then I challenged myself to do the same.

The prompt was simple:

"Generate a minimal luxurious poster design with a slight vintage touch for a Spanish Latte."

What surprised me wasn't which one looked better.
It was seeing how differently the same idea could be interpreted.

Design has always been more than the final visual.
It's about the choices behind it, and the intention behind every decision.

I'm curious, which one would you choose, and why?

The last time I shared The Yard, I talked about how the experience gives people a reason to come back.

This time, I wanted to explore what that experience might actually feel like.

Maybe it's the familiar table.

The quiet conversations.

Or simply having someone beside you while the drinks slowly get cold.

That's what this case study explores.

Because sometimes, the brands we remember most simply become part of our lives.

Coffee gives people a reason to walk in.

The experience gives them a reason to come back.

That thought shaped The Yard.

A fictional coffee shop brand and case study inspired by community, conversation, and the little moments that make a place feel familiar.

The goal wasn't simply to create a logo or a set of visuals.

It was to explore how branding can help turn a coffee shop into a place people want to return to, where good coffee, good company, and everyday stories naturally come together.

Because sometimes the best brands don't try to be the center of attention.

They simply become part of people's lives.

Progress is interesting.

Most people can see it before they can explain it.

A stronger physique.
More confidence.
Better habits.
Something feels different.

Brands work the same way.

The strongest ones don't grow from one good design.

They grow from repeated direction, repeated signals, and a clear identity over time.

That thinking shaped the direction behind FANG.

I think a lot of people quietly struggle with this.

Trying to adjust enough to be understood.

Liked.
Accepted.

Brands do it too.

A little change here.
A little adjustment there.

Until the original direction starts feeling harder to recognize.

Not every opinion needs to shape the whole identity.

Sometimes clarity comes from knowing what still feels true to what you're trying to build.

In branding.

And honestly… in life too.

One thing branding keeps reminding me:

people rarely connect with confusion.

Too many messages.
Too many directions.
Too many things competing for attention.

You see it in brands.
You see it in life too.

Things tend to feel stronger when they know what they're trying to say.

Clarity doesn't make things boring.
Sometimes it makes them easier to trust.

One thing branding keeps teaching me:

Clarity and popularity aren't always the same thing.

Trying to appeal to everyone can sound smart
until the message starts losing its shape.

You see it in brands.
You see it in people too.

Sometimes being understood matters more than being everywhere.
