The Bureau of Fire Protection Region 9, under the strong leadership of 𝐅𝐒𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐊𝐀𝐃𝐈𝐋 𝐓 𝐀𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐔𝐋, 𝐃𝐒𝐂, Acting Regional Director, and the supervision of 𝗙𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗧 𝗟𝗨𝗖𝗜𝗢 𝗣 𝗔𝗟𝗕𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗜𝗡, 𝗗𝗦𝗖, Provincial Fire Marshal, the personnel of Pitogo Municipal Fire Station, led by SFO3 Fredson S Dolar, Municipal Fire Marshal, Successfully conducted the Lecture about FIRE SAFETY.

In line with the Bureau of Fire Protection's commitment to disaster rehabilitation and recovery, the Pitogo Municipal Fire Station conducted a Fire Safe Reconstruction Seminar to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary for rebuilding communities affected by fire and other disasters. The seminar emphasized the principles of "Build Back Better," integrating fire safety measures into rehabilitation efforts, reducing future fire risks, and strengthening community resilience.

Participants also learned the importance of disaster preparedness, safe reconstruction practices, and compliance with fire safety standards to ensure safer and more sustainable recovery.

The ceremony served as a weekly reminder of the shared responsibility of government workers to uphold integrity, professionalism, and dedication in delivering quality public service to the community.

The activity highlighted the importance of mangrove forests in protecting coastal communities from storm surges, preventing soil erosion, preserving marine biodiversity, and mitigating the effects of climate change.

This initiative reflects the Bureau's commitment not only to fire prevention and emergency response but also to environmental stewardship and sustainable community development.

After Duty, Fire Officer Answers the Call of Duty—Helps Deliver Healthy Baby Boy in Mabuhay

IN PHOTOS | BFP Mabuhay, Zamboanga Sibugay responded to an urgent call involving a 21-year-old woman reportedly in labor at her residence in District 6 Poblacion in the same town, at around 5:05 p.m. on July 23, 2026.

Upon arriving at the scene, the responding fire officer immediately assessed the patient and observed that the baby was already crowning, indicating that delivery was imminent. Working alongside healthcare personnel from the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Mabuhay, the fire officer assisted the mother throughout labor. Through their coordinated efforts, they successfully delivered a healthy baby boy and provided the necessary immediate care for both mother and child.

Following the successful delivery, personnel of the Municipal Fire Station, in coordination with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), assisted in safely transporting the mother and her newborn to the Mabuhay Super Health Center for further medical attention and postnatal care.

The Bureau commends SFO1 Ericson A. Esmanel, Acting Sub-Station Commander of the San Roque Fire Sub-Station and a Registere Nurse for his exemplary dedication and selfless service in responding to the emergency after completing his official duties.
