PHILIPPINE BASKETBALL DELEGATION PRIMED FOR INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION IN SINGAPORE BY SAI

The Philippine basketball scene is making its presence felt in Singapore as the Ateneo de Manila University and Go Hard basketball teams, in partnership with the Philippine Youth Dreamers (PYD), arrive to compete in the highly anticipated 12U, 14U, and 16U divisions of the International Basketball Tournament Singapore 2026.

This mission to showcase Filipino youth talent is supported by a distinguished group of officials and sporting leaders. The delegation includes Juner Bayais and Klarence Sison from ABRO, along with Vengie Gabales and Lemerell Julia representing BSA Philippines.

Delegation head Coach Beaujing Acot, the founder and director of the Philippine Youth Dreamers organization. Coach Acot brings a wealth of expertise to the team, serving as a member of the Combined Grassroots Talent Identification program—an initiative spearheaded by the legendary Coach Norman Black under the auspices of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP).

The success of this international venture is rooted in strong institutional support. The PYD organization and the entire Philippine contingent extend their deepest gratitude to the SBP, particularly under the leadership of Executive Director Ms. Erika Dy. Her unwavering commitment has been instrumental in providing these "young Dreamers" with a platform to test their skills on the global stage.

With a focus on elite conditioning and tactical discipline, the Philippine delegation is ready to hit the hardwood. The teams have expressed full confidence in their preparation, asserting that they are physically and mentally equipped to match the speed, strength, and technical proficiency of their international counterparts.

The head coaches leading the different age categories are Coach Monroe Cueson (U12), Coach RJ Jazul (U14), and Coach Gian Sillona (U16).

"Our young athletes are not just here to participate; they are here to compete, said Coach Monroe Cueson. "

We have built a program that honors the grit and heart of Philippine basketball, and we are ready to showcase that against the best in the region echoed by Coach Acot.

Lets Go Philippines 🇵🇭
