14th ASEP focuses on the role of education in our pursuit of a strong and progressive ASEAN community.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) was established on 08 August 1967 with the purpose of promoting regional peace and stability as well as accelerating the economic growth, social progress, and cultural development in the region. On its 30th anniversary, the ASEAN Member States agreed to share a vision of an ASEAN Community that is living in peace, stability, and prosperity. In ord
er to achieve such a vision, increased awareness of the ASEAN is imperative. Thus, the ASEAN Student Exchange Programme was initiated in 2000 to provide an avenue for the youth to interact and learn about the region, Southeast Asia. The 14th ASEAN Student Exchange Program aims to contribute to the establishment of an ASEAN Community by providing an avenue for young ASEAN students to have a wider vision of our similarities as well as a deeper understanding, respect and appreciation of our diversity. Further, the 14th ASEAN Student Exchange Progam will facilitate the generation of ideas from the young participants on the region’s collective progress based on what they will have learned about the region’s education practices and shared vision.
