𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐔𝐄𝐒 || 𝐈𝐀𝐀𝐒-𝐋𝐒𝐆 𝟑𝐑𝐃 𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐋 𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐋𝐘

To assess the previous activities and plan for the next, the IAAS-LSG officers on September 23, 2026 conducted their 3rd general assembly.

The officers discussed important matters and voiced their feedback on the recently concluded events. It follows a series of discussions of future plans of the organization.

With this, we hope to sail forward, continuing to adjust our sails.

From 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟒–𝟏𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, we celebrate the 𝟔𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐅𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤, reminding us of our shared responsibility to protect and conserve our fisheries and aquatic resources.

This year’s theme, “𝐋𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐲, 𝐊𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐭 𝐁𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐧: 𝐘𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧, 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐲 𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐧,” highlights the importance of seagrasses, corals, and mangroves in sustaining aquatic biodiversity, supporting fisheries, and protecting coastal communities.

As members of the IAAS members, may we continue to appreciate the life beneath our waters and take part in efforts that help keep our aquatic ecosystems healthy and thriving. Every small action can contribute to a future where our seas remain abundant for generations to come.

𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰? Deep-sea anglerfish, belonging to the order Lophiiformes, have one of the most fascinating relationships in the ocean! The male is often much smaller than the female and, in some species, permanently attaches to her body and receives nutrients from her. This extraordinary reproductive strategy is known as 𝐬𝐞𝐱𝐮𝐚𝐥-𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐦.

But there is more to this fascinating fish! The female deep-sea anglerfish has a glowing lure called an esca, which contains bioluminescent bacterial symbionts. The light from this specialized structure is believed to help attract prey in the dark depths of the ocean.

From their unique reproductive strategy to their glowing lure, deep-sea anglerfish show us just how fascinating and diverse life beneath the ocean's surface can be.

On 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, the 𝐈𝐀𝐀𝐒-𝐋𝐒𝐆 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 took part in the 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, an opportunity to strengthen their understanding of leadership, legislative processes, and parliamentary procedures.

The training provided valuable insights that can help student leaders become more prepared in carrying out their responsibilities, making informed decisions, and serving the IAAS community with greater confidence and accountability.

As leaders, learning does not stop at the position. It continues through every experience, discussion, and responsibility we take on. May the knowledge gained from this training guide our student leaders in becoming more effective and responsible servants of the IAAS community.

With these ordinances, the officers may 𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘲𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘴𝘢𝘧𝘦𝘵𝘺, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 of the student body.

This initiative ensures that 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘻𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘥 about these ordinances and understand their importance.
