At 𝟴𝟰𝟱 𝗠𝗔𝗦𝗟, Panan-awan Peak stands as one of the 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘆𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺, just near the 𝗢𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗰–𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗲𝗻–𝗔𝗹𝗯𝘂𝗲𝗿𝗮 𝘁𝗿𝗶-𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿. 🌍

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 (from Tacloban):
🔹 Drive ~45 mins to 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿.
🔹 Go straight until you reach 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵, then take the 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝘂𝗲𝗿𝗮–𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗲𝗻 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱 behind the church (rightward).
🔹 Travel until 𝗕𝗿𝗴𝘆. 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘇𝗼𝗻 (Burauen’s last barangay), around 30–40 mins.
🔹 Continue towards 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝘂𝗲𝗿𝗮; once you see the 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝘂𝗲𝗿𝗮–𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗲𝗻–𝗢𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗰 𝘁𝗿𝗶-𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿, you’re almost there.
🔹 Drive ~5 mins more and you’ll reach 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻-𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗸. 🌲✨📌

𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲: Some portions are steep, and certain areas may be 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝘃𝗲𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, making the road narrow—drive with caution.

On our way to 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗲 inside Mahagnao Volcano Natural Park (Lapaz side), we spotted clusters of striking 𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘀 hanging from a tree—this is the 𝗛𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁 (𝗙𝗶𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗵𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗲), a wild fig 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀. 🌿

🔹 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Fruits, leaves, roots, and stems are edible—though usually boiled before consumption.
🔹 𝗛𝗮𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁: Commonly found along streams, serving as a natural water source in forested areas.
🔹 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Recognizable by its 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘀. 🍒

A true reminder of how rich and diverse our local forests are—𝗛𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁 is not just a plant, but part of the natural heritage of Leyte. 🌱✨
