🦎 A new species of leopard gecko, Eublepharis jhuma, was discovered in India’s Chota Nagpur Plateau.

✨ Its name was chosen as a tribute to Dr. Dhriti Banerjee, the first female Director of the Zoological Survey of India, whose nickname "Jhuma" was used to honour her work in wildlife conservation: doi.org/10.3897/herpetozoa.39.e183441
