Following the successful debut of our 2D Development Lab last fall, we are thrilled to announce the return of the AIA Animation Industry Immersive Lab. This application-based production program offers emerging Asian animation professionals a seat at the table in a real-world pipeline, turning technical skills into professional experience under the mentorship of industry veterans.

New for 2026: We’ve extended the Lab to a 7-month format. This gives our cohort more time to master new skills, deepen collaborations, and bring a high-quality 2D animated short film to life from the ground up.

What to expect:
🌱Take a short film from the dev lab to the final delivery
🌱Work side-by-side with mentors and a dedicated production crew
🌱Build production-ready skills in a real animation pipeline
🌱Collaborate virtually with artists and storytellers from across the AIA Community

This program is for you if:
🍄You’re an AIA member of Asian descent
🍄You’ve made animated films before (school or indie work counts)
🍄You’re ready to work as part of a team in a fast-paced production setting
