STATEMENT
Regarding the ICC Ruling on Duterte’s Appeal Against Court Jurisdiction

On behalf of Program Paghilom, we welcome today’s decision as a serious and meaningful step toward justice and healing.

The ruling of the International Criminal Court on its jurisdiction over the period of the so-called war on drugs affirms a fundamental truth: the suffering of victims and their families cannot be buried in silence. Their pain is real. Their voices matter. Their call for accountability must be heard.

We stand in solidarity with the families who, for years, have carried the weight of loss, fear, and unanswered grief. Their quiet cry—“Tama na po”—continues to echo, and it calls all of us to conscience.

We remember the lives lost, including the young—Myca, Aldrin, Kian, and many others—whose names remind us of the profound human cost of violence. No society can move forward without first acknowledging its wounds.

As Program Paghilom, we remain committed to walking with the poor, the vulnerable, and the forgotten. We continue the work of healing—patiently, faithfully—even as the pursuit of justice takes its course.

May this moment open a path not only to accountability, but to restoration—so that our wounded nation may begin, at last, to heal as one.

PALM SUNDAY WITH THE HOMELESS AND THE WOUNDED

Last Sunday, in unity with the whole Church, we a Palm Sunday Mass to commemorate the triumphant entry of Christ—together with the poor and the families of EJK victims.

The Mass was presided over by our Founder and President, Fr. Flavie L. Villanueva, SVD.

This celebration was especially meaningful for us, as it marked the first time that beneficiaries from both the Program Paghilom and the Arnold Janssen Kalinga Center came together as one community. In that moment, we shared not only in the remembrance of Christ’s suffering and death, but also in the reality many of our beneficiaries face daily—lives marked by pain and sacrifice.

Yet, just as Christ rose again, we continue to hold on to hope—the promise that healing, renewal, and new life are always possible.

BABAE! ✊💜

In celebration of International Women’s Month, we held a Women Empowerment Session last March 25 at the Catholic Trade Building. Together with the widows of EJK victims, this gathering became a space for strength, solidarity, and growth—empowering each woman to rediscover her voice and further hone her leadership skills.

Because every woman deserves to lead, to rise, and to be heard.

On the commemoration of the anniversary of the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte by the International Criminal Court, families of victims of the war on drugs gathered in solemn remembrance, offering slippers and flowers—each pair symbolizing a life lost.

This act of remembrance is not only a tribute to those who were taken, but also a step toward healing. The arrest of the former president marks a significant phase in the long journey toward justice, accountability, and hope for the families left behind.
