What You’ll Need
• A Button Press: (e.g., Vevor or Badge-A-Minit)
• Circle Cutter: To ensure perfectly round edges.
• Pin Components: Metal shells, mylar (the clear plastic), and pin backs.
• High-Quality Paper: Standard printer paper works, but "bright white" 24lb paper makes colors pop.
The Step-by-Step
1. Design & Print: Create your art in a circle template. Make sure to include a bleed area (the background color should extend slightly past the cut line) so you don't get white edges.
2. The Cut: Use your circle cutter to punch out the designs. Precision is key here—if the paper is off-center, the pin will be too.
3. The First Press: * Place the metal shell in the left die (Die A).
• Place your artwork on top.
• Place the mylar film on top of the art.
• Rotate and pull the lever down hard. The pieces will disappear into the top of the press!
4. The Second Press: * Place the pin back in the right die (Die B). Ensure the pin is oriented horizontally so your art isn't crooked.
• Rotate and pull the lever down again. This crimps the metal shell around the back.
5. Quality Check: Pop it out and give it a wipe to remove any fingerprints!
Pro-Tips for "Huge" Orders
• Batch Processing: Don’t make one pin at a time from start to finish. Cut all your paper first, then press all shells, then pack. It’s 3x faster.
