NU Clark COMEX

𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗫 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀: 𝗡𝗨𝗖 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗫, 𝗡𝗦𝗧𝗣 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗚𝗨, 𝗘𝗦; 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗫 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗙𝗚𝗗

Through the initiative of NU Clark Academe-Indusry Linkages and Placement Office (AILPO), the Community Extension Services and NSTP Office have conducted a courtesy visit to Calumpang Local Government Unit and Calumpang Elementary School, September 23.

The meeting focused on the conduct of the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) scheduled on the next LGU session on October 3.

The FGD shall focus on the Community Needs Assessment with the Barangay Captain and their respective councilors alongside stakeholders of the community to ascertain responsiveness of the Community Programs of NU Clark at Calumpang.

𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗫 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀: 𝗡𝗨 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟭𝟬 𝗰𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗦𝗮𝘀𝗺𝘂𝗮𝗻 𝗟𝗚𝗨, 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮

NU Clark, through its Community Extension Services Office (COMEX), has distributed 110 cavans of rice to partner organizations and local stakeholders supporting relief operations in flood-affected communities across Pampanga.

The rice donations were allocated to three groups conducting ongoing relief and humanitarian activities in the province. Twenty (20) cavans were turned over to Hearts in Action, which has conducted a relief operations in Macabebe, Pampanga. Another 40 cavans were provided to the Sasmuan Local Government Unit through Mr. Joshua Agapito to support their relief efforts for affected Sasmuan residents. Mr. Agapito will identify the respective barangay recepients of the donations.

Additionally, NU Clark turned over Php 5,000 to Mr. Agapito to support resource mobilization of their initiative coming from the raised funds from the Open Play organized by Pickleball Mild Gamers and Ms. Patricia Acorda.

Donations from the NU Clark Student Organizations were consequently also turned over to Mr. Agapito who received the food items, hygiene items, and clothes.

Meanwhile, 50 cavans were turned over to Angat Pampanga, which conducted a medical mission and relief operation in Barangay Malusac, Sasmuan, Pampanga. This forms part of the Joint-Relief Operations of Angat Pampanga and NU Clark.

The relief assistance was made possible through the rice donation of NU Baliwag, which shared a portion of the rice they received from a private donor for their relief initiative in Bulacan.

The inter-campus support highlights the collaborative disaster-response efforts of NU Philippines, allowing resources received by one campus to be extended to communities beyond its immediate area of operation.

Through this initiative, NU Clark continues to strengthen its network of partners in delivering timely assistance to communities affected by flooding and other disasters, while NU Baliwag's contribution demonstrates how inter-campus resource sharing can widen the reach of NU Philippines' community extension efforts.

𝗜𝗻 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘀: 𝗣𝗠𝗚, 𝗡𝗨𝗖 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘁-𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝘀𝗺𝘂𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

Sixty pickleball players came together for a cause as the Pickleball Mild Gamers, in partnership with NU Clark, conducted a Pickleball Open Play for a Cause to support the Municipality of Sasmuan and its barangays affected by flooding brought by the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.

Initiated through the efforts of Patricia Acorda, the activity brought together players who shared not only their passion for pickleball but also their commitment to extending assistance to communities affected by the prolonged flooding.

The open play provided a platform for participants to enjoy the sport while contributing to a fundraising effort intended to support the flood response and recovery needs of affected communities in Sasmuan.

The activity gathered a total of 60 players and successfully raised ₱5,000, which will be directed toward the assistance of the Sasmuan Local Government Unit (LGU) and its affected barangays.

We sincerely thank PMG Club headed by Mr. Jethro Atienza and Ms. Patricia Acorda for bringing together the Pickleball Mild Gamers Community to walk with NU Clark for this humanitarian advocacy.

NU Baliwag (NUB), through its Community Extension Office, turned over 113 sacks of rice to NU Clark (NUC) in support of the latter’s ongoing relief initiative for communities affected by flooding in Pampanga.

The donation forms part of the 5,000-kilogram rice donation received by NU Baliwag from a private individual, which has supported the campus’ Project JAY. A portion of the donated rice was allocated to NU Clark to help augment relief assistance being extended to flood-affected communities.

The inter-campus initiative further strengthens the collaborative efforts of NU Philippines in responding to communities affected by disasters. Through the shared resources and coordinated efforts of its campuses, NU Philippines continues to expand the reach of its community extension and disaster-response initiatives, particularly in times when immediate assistance is needed most.

This turnover underscores the value of solidarity and resource-sharing among NU campuses, demonstrating how collective action among the campuses can positively impact various communities.

The Community Extension Services Office warmly congratulates and expresses its pride to the NU Clark Pamiyabe President, Magnus Marcus Villarin, for his outstanding performance in the iLACE Regional Cohort 2026, ranking 4th in Luzon and 7th nationwide among participating youth leaders.

The iMPACT Leadership Academy for Civic Empowerment (iLACE) is a vital, transformative initiative that empowers the next generation of Filipino changemakers by equipping them with the tools needed for proactive public service and community organizing.

Through its hybrid structure of digital webinars and immersive, fully funded leadership labs, the program—spearheaded by +iMPACT Leadership and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation Philippines—deepens young leaders' understanding of democratic values, good governance, and strategic communication.

Villarin, a Management Accounting student of the School of Accountancy, Business, and Management, also qualified among the Top 30 out of 150 students for the Luzon-wide Phase of the Program.

This milestone is a testament of Villarin's commitment to Civic Empowerment and Community Service, reflected within the values of his Organization, PMYB.

NU Clark, through the Community Extension Services Office (COMEX) in collaboration with the Sports Development Office (SDO), brought together Faculty Members, Academic and Administrative Support Personne for the First-ever NU Clark Open Play for a Cause, uniting the university community through sports.

The activity featured an organized open play on pickleball and badminton which was able to raise funds for communities affected by the prolonged flooding brought by the Habagat (Southwest Monsoon).

Dr. Francisco Gabriel Prevandos, Sports Development Office Coordinator, facilitated the activity assuring that the OP remained safe and worthwhile.

Meanwhile, proceeds of this fundraiser shall be provided to the identified partner community of NU Clark.
