Apayao is still under MECQ. Tourism activities are still not allowed in the province.

As per announcement from Malacañang Palace on 31 May 2021, through the recommendation of the National Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID)

The Province of Apayao shall continue to be under MODIFIED ENHANCED COMMUNITY QUARANTINE (MECQ) for the period June 01 to 15, 2021.

"It was a multi-tiered jungle waterfall, tucked just 20 minutes walk away from the main road. There wasn't a marked trail, and we had to pass by a few farms and up a river... AND IT WAS SO WORTH IT!"
