How many times have you promised yourself to stop eating sweets at home, only to find yourself halfway through a bag of chips by midweek?
Most people rely on willpower alone, but once they slip, they quickly fall back into old patterns. From my own experience and research, I’ve learned that long-term weight management depends more on controlling your environment. This principle is known as stimulus control in behavioral psychology.

📌Sleepless in the digital age
People are turning to sleep-tracking apps and coloured noise for better rest, though overuse may lead to increased anxiety and disrupted sleep.
In today’s gadget-filled world, people are more glued to their screens than ever, with numerous reports highlighting how late-night screen time and doomscrolling are disrupting sleep and harming mental health.
Ironically, some have turned to sleep-tracking apps on these very devices in hopes of a better night’s sleep, but do they really deliver?
Dr Rajveer Singh Saren, an ENT (ear, nose and throat) surgeon and international sleep disorder specialist, views these trackers as more of a screening tool that signals users to seek out professional advice.
He explains that most widely available sleep-tracking apps rely on basic measurements such as body movement, heart rate, and minimal breathing analysis.

Why eating healthy feels bad before it feels good?
Why do people feel terrible at first when trying to eat healthier? Just like those quitting smoking, co***ne or coffee, it’s withdrawal; the body is ridding itself of toxins. The good news is that the irritability, headaches, stomach cramping, brain fog and flu-like symptoms like sore throat disappear in four days. Knowing this prepares people to push through the discomfort of withdrawal.
In the 2021 “The Truth About Weight Loss” summit, Joel Fuhrman, M.D., explained that waste builds up in your tissues when you haven’t been eating properly for a long time, penetrating the blood-brain barrier, leading to withdrawal symptoms.
