MEET ANNE!

Janica Anne Dela Peña, or Anne as we know her, is the Provincial Youth Development Officer of Aklan and a part-time instructor at Northwestern Visayan College. But serving humanity is her life's work.

One of Aklan's most promising youth leaders, she’s been called a "superwoman" by her peers — and indeed she is, with a schedule full of activities and ideas to transform the youth and the nation.

A graduate of Communication and Media Studies, Anne has not left her passion for the arts, producing the documentary Daan Patungong Tawaya about the 19 Martyrs of Aklan. She also directed the 2023 Hangaway: An Aklanon Culture and Arts Show and launched the Aklan Kulture Movement Exposé, empowering Aklanon youth talents.

Her zeal earned her multiple recognitions, including being a Philippine representative to CADCA International's Mid-Year Training Institute, CADCA's National Leadership Program, and SAMSHA's Prevention Day. These achievements garnered commendations from the Sangguniang Bayan of Kalibo and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Aklan.

As President of Pulong ng Kabataan, which boasts over a hundred youth members, Anne also serves as a Board Member of the Association of Anti-Drug Abuse Coalitions of the Philippines, Inc., and as Chairperson of the Kalibo Association of Youth Anti-Drug Coalition.

Anne’s leadership extends to advising youth organizations, including the Aklan Arts and Crafts Society and the Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines - Aklan Chapter.

An award-winning leader, she has been recognized as the 2023 Most Outstanding Leader, a 2023 and 2022 Pagkilaa Awardee, a 2021 JCI Pinay Power in Visayas honoree, and one of the 2020 Pagdayaw Awardees of LGU Kalibo.

Involved in advocacies aligned with the UN SDG 17 goals — including youth development, substance abuse prevention, arts & culture, good governance, and health — Anne is an EMPOWERED WOMAN steering the community toward a brighter and better future. 💪🌍

In her commitment to youth development, Anne stands as a beacon of hope and empowerment, guiding the next generation toward a future of resilience, innovation, and positive change. 🌟

Tolentino, Jr. and Aklan Provincial Youth Development Office, we invite passionate youth to join the Provincial Youth (Boy and Girl) Officials of the Province of Aklan.
