The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region IX and BASULTA successfully concluded the Philippine Startup Challenge (PSC) X Regional Pitching Competition held virtually via Zoom on November 6, 2025.

This year’s competition drew an impressive 64 startup entries from across Zamboanga Peninsula, Isabela City, Basilan, and Sulu, showcasing the region’s growing passion for innovation and technology-driven solutions. After a rigorous series of eliminations, 18 promising startups advanced to the regional finals—each presenting their innovative ideas before a distinguished panel of judges.

⚙️ 4th Runner-Up: Online Case Filing and Management System for VAWC (Saint Columban College)

The Philippine Startup Challenge stands as DICT’s flagship innovation program, empowering students and young professionals to create technology-based solutions addressing real-world challenges.

CICTT Students Shine in the Philippine Startup Challenge X (PSC X)! 💡🚀

Five innovative teams from the College of Information, Communication, and Trade Technology (CICTT) proudly represented Basilan State College during the Provincial Pitching Competition for Basilan, held on October 28, 2025, at the BaSC CAS Building, Lab 4, via Zoom Meeting.

The participating teams were:

With the theme “Developing Ethical and Professional Capacities of Student Journalists for a Dynamic Global Context,” the event gathered all campus journalists from different colleges and departments of Basilan State College to enhance their journalistic skills and ethical practices.

Based on the latest weather forecast, rainfall has weakened throughout the day. However, due to the continued threat of river overflow, possible landslides, and fallen trees in certain areas, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) of Isabela City has announced the suspension of face-to-face classes in all levels today, Wednesday, October 8, 2025.

Offices will remain operational unless stated otherwise. Everyone is advised to stay alert and prioritize safety at all times. 🌧⚠️
