| The Haribons are at it again!
April 08, 2026 || PLM returns the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to lend a helping hand.
NSTP - Civil Welfare Training Program (CWTS) students from BSIT 1-1 and BPA 1-2 visited the DSWD National Resource Operations Center (NROC) to volunteer in packing food for numerous households under the Family Food Packing and Stockpiling Program.
These food packs are prepared as emergency supplies designed to act as support in times of disasters. Through the efforts of the NSTP CWTS students, it is ensured that there are pre-packaged goods ready to distribute in times of crisis
As the Day of Valor approaches, it is important to remember that true valor is not only found on the battlefield. Sometimes, it is seen in everyday acts, through people who choose to stand and help in societyโs toughest battles.

| As the semestral break and the holy solemnity of Holy Week unfold, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila students under the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) continue to uphold their societal duties even after having the week off. Students from BSBA OM 1-2, BS Bio 1-3, and BSSW 1-2 set aside their semestral break euphoria to volunteer at the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
The students were tasked to passionately pack pre-handed goods in preparation for unforeseen environmental challenges under the Disaster Family Food Pack and Stockpiling Program at the DSWD office. Their dedication and willingness to serve reflect the true essence of volunteerism and civic engagement.
The effort is aimed not only at pre-preparing relief goods in times of calamity but also at building relationships with the students and keeping them in touch with their societal responsibilities. Through this initiative, they are able to deepen their sense of empathy, discipline, and commitment to public service. In the end, this experience serves as a meaningful reminder that service to the community knows no season of rest, as the students continue to embody compassion and responsibility even beyond the classroom.

| Extending lifelines of those in need. Donating blood is not an easy task, it can be scary for most. Needles do get intimidating after all.
On March 24, 2026, the volunteer students of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) - Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS), in partnership with the Ospital ng Maynila, took part in replenishing the Manila blood bank.
The initiative has recorded a total of 108 registered donors, this includes both pre-registered and walk-in volunteers. Out of the total volunteers, 86 of them were qualified and able to successfully donate. With the number of donors, they were able to accumulate an estimated total of 38,700cc of blood. The derived volume can help approximately 258 patients who will undergo blood transfusion.
From the four chambers of our hearts, thank you to all the donors who took time and effort for the blood donation program!
| Blood Donation Drives are crucial in medical procedures for patients with illnesses like anemia, cancer, dengue and other conditions that require blood transfusion. Hospitals are aided to perform surgeries and medical procedures with a sufficient amount of blood supply.
In the beginning of 2026, some news reports stated that hospitals nationwide raised red alerts due to critical blood shortages. Due to this critical concern, local and national medical institutions encourage consistent blood donations.
Student-volunteers under the National Service Training Program (NSTP), particularly BSN 2-3 and 2-4, in coordination with Bagong Ospital ng Maynila, organized a donation drive to gather blood for hospitals and patients in need. The event was held on March 24, 2026, at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila's Katipunan Lounge in Gusaling Ejercito Estrada.
This initiative leaves a trace of humanity, lengthening the lives of people in need of strength, lending blood that would grant them another chance. This is not a mere medical procedure, but a reflection of a loving Filipino who is willing to offer a part of themselves to others.
