Musical Competition Guidelines & Categories

CTU Daanbantayan Campus is pleased to announce the upcoming Musical Competition, open to talented students who wish to showcase their musical skills. Below are the official categories and guidelines for participation:

🎤 To be held during Mr. & Ms. CTU Pageant Night

Vocal Solo

Vocal Duet

🎼 To be held during a Separate Musical Event

Kundiman

Guitar Solo

Violin Solo

Piano Solo

Live Band Competition

📌 GENERAL GUIDELINES (All Categories)
✔️ All songs must be original Filipino compositions
✔️ Lyrics must be appropriate for a school event (no foul or offensive words)
✔️ Vocal contestants must prepare their own minus-one (instrumental) track
✔️ Participants are responsible for ensuring their music is sound-system ready

🎻 INSTRUMENTAL COMPETITION GUIDELINES

Contestants may bring their own instruments except piano

All instruments must be unplugged / acoustic

Piano will be provided by the organizers

🎸 LIVE BAND COMPETITION GUIDELINES

Each band must have 4–7 members only

Songs performed must be original Filipino compositions

Bands must bring their own instruments and gadgets

📢 Organizers will provide:

Sound system

Two (2) microphones

Drum set (official drum set to be used by all bands)

🎵 IMPORTANT REMINDERS
Participants are expected to observe discipline, professionalism, and sportsmanship throughout the competition.

Huni CTU Ensemble | General Orientation and Welcoming of New Members

The Huni Ensemble successfully conducted its General Orientation and Welcoming of New Members on September 5, 2025, at the COTE Building.

The morning session opened with a prayer, followed by the opening remarks of President Elaiza Mae Flores. Members then engaged in a musical icebreaker through a harmony exercise, leading to a lecture and demonstration that highlighted the fundamentals of ensemble performance.

In the afternoon, members introduced themselves, and the month’s activities were formally presented. Sectional practices were also held, culminating in combined singing that showcased the group’s unity. The event was officially closed with a message from Mr. Rolando Lima Jr., marking a meaningful start to the ensemble’s journey this academic year.

After the evaluation, we are pleased to announce the official list of applicants who have successfully qualified to be part of the Huni Ensemble.

Huni CTU Ensemble | Trainees’ Evaluation

On September 4, 2025, the Huni CTU Ensemble conducted the evaluation for its new trainees. During the evaluation, the participants underwent an initial assessment of their singing capability, serving as the first step in recognizing their potential and preparing them for the comprehensive training sessions that lie ahead.
