🇦🇺 How to Apply as an International Student in Australia

🎓 STUDENT VISA: Subclass 500

✅ Basic Requirements:

Valid Passport

Confirmation of Enrollment (CoE) – from an approved Australian school/university

Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) Statement

Academic Records (Form 137, TOR, diploma, etc.)

English Language Test – IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE (depends on the school)

Proof of Funds – bank statement, education loan, sponsor's affidavit

Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) – required for entire duration of study

Passport-size Photos

Visa Application Fee – AUD $710 (subject to change)

Birth Certificate / NBI Clearance (sometimes required)

📝 STEP-BY-STEP APPLICATION PROCESS

1. Choose Your Course & School

Pick an approved CRICOS-registered institution in Australia.

Examples: TAFE, universities, colleges offering diploma to master's programs.

2. Apply to the School

Submit academic documents, passport, and English test results.

Wait for Letter of Offer.

3. Accept Offer & Pay Initial Tuition

Sign the Letter of Offer and pay the initial deposit (varies per school).

4. Get Your CoE (Confirmation of Enrolment)

After payment, the school will send the CoE — this is needed for the visa.

5. Prepare GTE Statement

A written explanation of why you’re studying in Australia, your goals, and plans after study (very important for visa approval).

6. Buy Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)

Required insurance for international students (covers medical costs in Australia).

7. Create an ImmiAccount

Go to: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au

8. Apply for Student Visa (Subclass 500)

Complete online application

Upload documents

Pay visa fee (AUD $710)

9. Biometrics & Health Check

Attend biometrics and panel medical exam at an approved clinic.

10. Wait for Visa Decision

Processing time: usually 1–2 months, sometimes faster.

11. Visa Granted!

You’ll receive your visa grant notice via email — ready to fly!
