Lesson in life
BE A WOMAN OF CHRIST!

You Feed Them
When Jesus fed over 12,000 people with five loaves and two fish, He didn't just perform a miracle—He invited His disciples to participate in it. Despite grieving the loss of His cousin John the Baptist, Jesus saw the crowd and was moved with compassion (Matthew 14:14). This miracle, recorded in all four Gospels, reveals how God wants to work through us today.
Jesus laid aside His own pain to minister to others, demonstrating what it means to see the need around us. As followers of Christ, we're called to look beyond our circumstances and recognize the hurting world around us. We serve a God who understands our struggles (Hebrews 4:15), and because He's met us in our need, we can reach out to others. When we hear people's stories and truly see them, compassion flows naturally, moving us from self-focus to purpose-driven living.
When the disciples said, "We only have five loaves and two fish," Jesus responded with words that still echo today: "Bring them here" (Matthew 14:17-18). Stop limiting what God has placed in your hands. Your gifts, time, resources, or abilities may seem insignificant, but when released to God, He multiplies them beyond imagination. When we release what isn't enough, God rewards us with more than enough—not for our glory, but for His.
The miracle didn't happen when Jesus blessed the bread—it multiplied as the disciples distributed it to the people. They had to step out in faith, not knowing how it would work, trusting that obedience would lead to a breakthrough. Faith is the decision to obey even when you don't understand.
Jesus later declared, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry" (John 6:35). The world is still hungry, still searching for satisfaction in things that can never fill the void. Only Jesus can satisfy the deepest longings of our souls. Today, He's calling us with the same words He spoke to His disciples: "You feed them." Bring what you have, step out in faith, and watch God multiply your obedience into miracles that point others to the Bread of Life.
Reflection Questions:
What is in your hand that God is asking you to bring to Him today?
How can you look beyond your own circumstances to see and meet the needs of others around you?
Applications:
Identify one gift, resource, or ability you've been holding back and commit it to God's purposes this week.
Reach out to someone in need—listen to their story, offer prayer, or provide practical help as God leads.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for inviting us to participate in Your miraculous work. Help us to see the needs around us with Your eyes of compassion. Give us courage to bring what we have—even when it seems insufficient—and place it in Your hands. Strengthen our faith to obey even when we don't understand. May our lives point others to Jesus, the Bread of Life, who truly satisfies. Use us to feed Your sheep and bring hope to a hungry world. In Jesus' name, Amen.
