OPFM Samar personnel, under the leadership of Acting Provincial Fire Marshal, FCINSP ANTHONY C DE PAZ, successfully held the Capacity Building Seminar on Water Safety Symposium on May 14, 2026 at Jasmin Beach Resort, Marabut, Samar.
The activity was facilitated by FO3 Jemuel L Duallo, assisted by Mr. Reynald O. Awa-ao. It focused on strengthening knowledge and skills in water safety, disaster preparedness, and emergency response, enhancing the readiness of OPFM personnel in delivering public safety services.

All City and Municipal Fire Marshals of BFP Samar convened at the Office of the Provincial Fire Marshal in Catbalogan City for the conduct of the Monthly Performance Evaluation and discussion of key administrative matters.
The activity served as a platform to assess operational accomplishments, address concerns, and align directives geared toward strengthening fire protection services across the province.

The Office of the Provincial Fire Marshal, under the leadership of FCINSP ANTHONY C DE PAZ, Acting Provincial Fire Marshal, convened its regular staff meeting to further strengthen fire safety enforcement and enhance the delivery of provincial fire protection services.
During the meeting, section heads from the Administrative, Operations, and Fire Safety Enforcement Sections presented comprehensive updates on their respective areas, including administrative matters, fire code fees collection, fire suppression data, Community Relations initiatives, and logistical concernsโensuring improved coordination and operational efficiency across all units. The body likewise reviewed the recently concluded Fire Prevention Month activities to guide improved preparations for next year.
In his guidance, FCINSP DE PAZ emphasized the importance of proactive recognition of the accomplishments of line units, underscoring the need to duly acknowledge their efforts through appropriate commendations.

ADVISORY ON FRAUDULENT IMPERSONATION AND SOLICITATION
It has come to the attention of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Region 8 Regional Office that certain individuals are fraudulently impersonating the Regional Director and members of the Command Group to solicit money, favors, and other forms of assistance from personnel and stakeholders.
In view of this, the BFP Region 8 Regional Office strongly warns all personnel and the general public to remain vigilant and to refrain from engaging in any transaction or communication with individuals involved in such illegal activities.
The following are hereby emphasized:
- The Regional Director and members of the Command Group DO NOT solicit cash, gifts, or any form of favor, whether directly or indirectly, from any unit or individual.
- Any request for financial assistance, particularly those coursed through mobile payment platforms such as GCash or similar services, should be treated with extreme caution and considered highly suspicious unless properly verified through official channels.
- Official communications and directives from the Regional Office are issued only through authorized and verifiable channels.
All personnel are hereby directed to exercise heightened awareness and prudence. Any suspicious messages, calls, or requests - especially those involving urgency, secrecy, or financial transactions - must be immediately reported to the Regional Office.
This advisory is issued to reinforce the importance of integrity, protect personnel from fraudulent schemes, and safeguard the organization from exploitation by unscrupulous individuals.
