"Muog" (Fortress)
- honors the strength found in unity and sacrifice. Large, cupped hands represent a living fortress for the weary, symbolizing the public servants who sacrifice their lives for the people. While fire rages in the background, the selfless service of frontliners provides the ultimate shield. This piece serves as a reminder that our greatest protection in any crisis is the compassion we show for one another.

Joining the GSIS Art Competition 2026, one of the most renowned art competition in the Philippines was my best decision this year. After 10 years, I finally hold a paint brush again! Even if I didn't win, finishing my work on time despite everything is a huge achievement.
Just like my painting, I have a fortress (muog) that I honor and glorify and that is God, who gave me a second chance at life after my head injury.
I’m so grateful to my sponsors, I may have lost, but your support makes me feel like a winner. Huge thanks to my family and friends, especially Roland (my pitaji) I’ll never forget the struggle of carrying a 3ft x 4ft painting on a motorcycle just to make the deadline! I almost got disqualified, but you saved the day. Thank you for always being there, your smile is all I need. Luv u as always.

Ganire kase..while nagpipinta, narealize ko na nagkaroon ako ng mistake sa orientation. Dapat landscape, pero portrait ang nasimulan ko. (Minsan talaga, pati sa sariling canvas, nagkaka-issue tayo sa reading comprehension! 😂)
Plano ko na sana itong patungan na lang ng pintura at ibaon na lang ito sa limot.
Pero habang tinititigan ko 'yung mukha ng bumbero, ni Lolo, at nung asong natrauma, naisip ko.. nalulungkot ako.
Ang tunay na kabayanihan ay hindi rin perpekto, gaya ng sining.

'Pagpupugay ito sa mga bayaning walang kapa. Pinapaalala nito na bawat buhay, tao man o hayop, ay kailangan din ng kaligtasan. Simbolo ito ng pag-asang hindi namamatay.'

Gusto ko sana ’tong ituloy, hindi dahil sayang ang canvas, kundi dahil sa tingin ko kailangang din 'mailigtas' ang obrang ito.
Mukhang may matatambay na naman na WIP 😂

Sulyap ng katahimikan sa gitna ng makulay na mundo. Sinusubukan pang isalba ang isang obra na tila pinaglaruan ng tadhana (ng isang gutom na ipis 😫), dahil ang bawat sining ay karapat-dapat sa isang ikalawang pagkakataon. Laban lang 😁👍

It was supposed to be landscape, but I first painted it in portrait, an unexpected mistake that became part of the journey. Hoping I can still make it in time for the competition. 😅
