The National Bayani Ka Awards 2024, held at the Sequoia Hotel, Quezon City from October 9 to 11, was an inspiring event that honored the remarkable efforts of Kalahi-CIDSS volunteers across the country. This year, the Municipality of Alamada, North Cotabato, took center stage as two of its outstanding volunteers were recognized for their dedication and service.
Sir Diosdado Ascerda, Jr. of Barangay Guiling, Alamada, brought pride to the region by winning the prestigious Regional Bayani Ka award and being named a National nominee under the Operation and Maintenance Category. His unwavering commitment to the Kalahi program and the community of Barangay Guiling earned him this well-deserved recognition.
Another pride of Alamada, Ma'am Eva Marie M. Garde, was also celebrated as she received the National Bayani Ka award under the Gender and Development Category. Her tireless advocacy for gender equality and her leadership in empowering women within the community have truly made a lasting impact.
These recognitions were a testament to the dedication and hard work of Alamada’s Kalahi volunteers. The honors given to Sir Diosdado and Ma’am Eva Marie reflect the collective efforts of the entire municipality in supporting the Kalahi-CIDSS program.
This achievement would not have been possible without the continuous support of the key leaders and partners of the Municipality of Alamada. We extend our deepest gratitude to Sir Loreto Jr. V. Cabaya, Regional Director of DSWD 12, for his unwavering support throughout the program’s implementation. Our appreciation also goes to Municipal Mayor Hon. Jesus N. Sacdalan, Vice Mayor Hon. Leonildo A. Calibara, Jr., the SB members, and the 17 barangays of Alamada, whose leadership and partnership made this success a reality.
Special thanks are also given to the Barangay Captains of Barangay Guiling and Barangiran for their consistent support. Additionally, we recognize the municipal heads of Alamada, especially our MCT Area Coordinator, Kalahi Focal, and MPDC Engr. Evelyn F. Esleta, for their steadfast commitment to the program.
Lastly, we commend the hardworking team behind the Kalahi CIDSS NCDDP AF in Alamada—the ACT/MCT Kalahi staff—for their dedication to the success of the program. Their collaborative efforts contributed significantly to the overall achievement of our volunteers.
The Municipality of Alamada takes great pride in these accolades and remains committed to furthering the Kalahi-CIDSS program’s mission of empowering communities. We look forward to continuing our journey of service, compassion, and dedication to the people.
