On May 14, 2026, the Southern Luzon State University (SLSU)โAlabat campus proudly hosted the Advance and Basic ROTC Graduation Ceremony, marking a significant milestone for the cadets and cadettes who successfully completed their training. The event celebrated not only their hard work, but also the discipline, leadership, and unwavering commitment they developed throughout the program.
A total of fifty-five (55) Basic ROTC cadets and cadettes, along with four (4) Advance ROTC Cadet Officers, officially graduated and received their certificates of completion. Several graduates were also recognized with special awards for their exemplary performance and outstanding service during the training period.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed Guest of Honor and Speaker, PCPT Harris D Hemor, Acting Chief of Police of Alabat, for delivering an inspiring message that challenged the graduates to continue serving with honor, integrity, and patriotism. Before concluding, he shared several meaningful bible verses, anchoring his message on Philippians 4:13 : โI can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,โ reminding the cadets to remain faithful, courageous, and determined in the face of future challenges.
The success of this memorable occasion was further highlighted by the invaluable presence and support of our distinguished guests: COL NORLEO G ADDULAM OS (GSC) PA, Director of the 404th CDC; TSg Antonio M Ronquillo (Inf) PA; SSg Julito T Salcedo (CE) PA; Sgt James Nichol D Ungriano PA (Res); and Dr. Lyn Vargas-Tapan, the SLSU-Alabat Campus Director and NSTP Coordinator.
Additionally, the SLSUโAlabat ROTC Unit expresses its deepest appreciation to the Municipal Mayor of Alabat, Hon. Eizelle 'Ays' Avellano-Canimo, whose visit and support made the celebration even more meaningful for the graduating unit.

The 13th and 14th training day on April 18, 2026 was successfully conducted at the SLSU-Alabat Covered Court, led by Sgt James Nichol D Ungriano PA (Res)
The session began with inspection, ensuring cadets and cadets maintained proper uniform, grooming, and overall preparedness in line with military standards. This was followed by drill exercises that enhanced coordination, discipline, and unity within the formation.
The discussion focused on combat training & individual training and map reading & land navigation, equipping the trainees with essential knowledge and skills for field operations. These topics emphasized self-reliance, situational awareness, and the ability to navigate effectively in different environments.
Through these activities, cadets continue to develop discipline, leadership, and a strong sense of responsibilityโcore values that shape them into capable and service-oriented individuals.

Despite the shift to online platforms in compliance with the national energy conservation memorandum, the SLSU-Alabat ROTC Unit continues to sharpen its edge during its ๐๐๐ญ๐ก ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ญ๐ก ๐๐ซ๐๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฌ on April 11, 2026.
The sessions covered ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐๐ก๐ง๐ข๐ช๐ฎ๐๐ฌ ๐ in the morning with ๐๐ฏ๐ญ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ซ๐ข ๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐ณ๐ ๐๐ (๐๐๐ฌ) and ๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐๐๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ in the afternoon discussed by ๐๐ฏ๐ญ ๐๐ข๐๐ญ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐ ๐๐๐๐ฆ ๐๐ (๐๐๐ฌ).
Under the supervision of ๐๐ ๐ญ ๐๐๐ฆ๐๐ฌ ๐๐ข๐๐ก๐จ๐ฅ ๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ง๐จ ๐๐ (๐๐๐ฌ), the sessions were successfully attended by 48 Basic Cadets and 6 Advance ROTC Officers.
Distance may change the venue, but it never changes the discipline.

On January 11, 2026, the Open Collar Ceremony and Closing Ceremony of the 5 days In-House Leadership Training for the Cadet Officer Candidate Course was successfully conducted at the Southern Luzon State UniversityโMain Campus, Brgy. Kulapi, Lucban, Quezon.
The activity marked the culmination of an intensive five-day training designed to develop leadership competence, discipline, teamwork, and command responsibility among cadet officer candidates. Trainees from various SLSU campuses and affiliated units proudly received their certificates in recognition of their successful completion of the in-house leadership training.
In addition, advanced officers were awarded special certifications in recognition of their exemplary performance, leadership potential, and active participation throughout the duration of the training. The dedicated members of the training staff were also formally recognized and given awards for their invaluable service, professionalism, and commitment in ensuring the successful conduct of the training.
The ceremony highlighted the commitment of SLSU ROTC to molding competent, disciplined, and service-oriented future leaders, while also honoring the collective efforts of both trainees and training personnel in preparation for higher responsibilities within the corps.

This outstanding accomplishment, which demonstrates not just academic success but also the discipline, leadership, and dedication to service that she continues to instill in both professors and cadets, is warmly recognized by the ROTC Unit. We have seen her tenacity and modesty in juggling her academic goals with her professional and institutional obligations.

The SLSU Alabat ROTC Unit reverently honored Rizal Day on December 30, 2025, at Alabat Municipality, in remembrance of Dr. Josรฉ Rizal, whose remarkable patriotism, intellectual prowess, and noble sacrifice greatly inspired the Filipino people.
The celebration highlighted his lasting influence and the values he upheld. The unit reaffirms its dedication to upholding the values of justice, truth, and love for country as future national servants and defenders through this significant observance.

The Reserve Officersโ Training Corps (ROTC) unit successfully conducted its 12th and 13th day of training at Southern Luzon State University โ Alabat Campus. The morning session featured an insightful lecture on ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฒ, delivered by ๐๐ฏ๐ญ ๐๐ข๐๐ญ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐ ๐๐๐๐ฆ, ๐๐ (๐๐๐ฌ), emphasizing the evolution of the Armed Forces and its role in nation-building.
At 1000H, cadets and cadettes actively participated in the annual ๐๐จ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ฅ ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ง๐ฎ๐ฉ ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฏ๐ of SLSU-Alabat Campus, demonstrating their commitment to environmental protection and community service as part of their holistic development.
Before the afternoon lecture, the trainees engaged in rifle drills and familiarization exercises, reinforcing discipline, precision, and proper handling techniques essential for military training.
The afternoon session focused on ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฎ๐๐ฌ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ฏ๐๐ฅ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ, discussed by the ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐จ๐จ๐ซ๐๐ข๐ง๐๐ญ๐จ๐ซ, ๐๐ซ๐จ๐. ๐๐ฒ๐ง ๐๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐ฌ-๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ง, highlighting the importance of character formation, leadership, and civic responsibility in shaping future leaders.

The 11th ROTC training day was successfully held at the SLSU-Alabat Covered Court on November 15, 2025, led by Sgt James Nichol D Ungriano PA (Res)
The session focused on Military Customs and Traditions and the Rule of Law (Human Rights & International Humanitarian Law), highlighting the importance of respect, professionalism, and adherence to lawful and ethical conduct in both military and civilian settings. Through these lessons, the cadets continue to uphold the ROTC values of discipline, leadership, and patriotism, strengthening not only their knowledge of military culture but also their understanding of human rights, ethical responsibility, and the rule of law.
