On March 12, 2026, Mandaluyong College of Science and Technology actively participated in the 1st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) 2026, aimed at enhancing disaster preparedness and raising awareness about earthquake safety among learners, teachers, and staff. The drill was a cooperative effort organized by the College Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (CDRRM) Incident Management Team, in line with the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Department and National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management priorities.
Its objectives are to promote disaster awareness among students, teachers, and employees within the school community,
test the readiness and response capability of participants in the event of an actual earthquake and reinforce safety protocols, including the "Duck, Cover, and Hold" procedure and prompt evacuation to designated assembly areas.
The drill commenced at 3:30 PM with a simulated earthquake alert broadcast throughout the school. Participants were instructed to immediately duck, cover, and hold, simulating a response to real seismic events. Following the initial shaking, the evacuation alarm sounded, prompting all learners and staff to follow proper evacuation routes to safe assembly points under teacher supervision. A roll call and headcount were conducted to ensure the safety and completeness of all participants, who were represented by 210 individuals, including professors, students, and administrative personnel, who actively participated.
The exercise emphasized collaboration with the IMT for an organized and efficient drill.
All safety procedures were executed without incidents.
The 1st Quarter NSED 2026 was a resounding success. The activity effectively strengthened the school's culture of disaster preparedness, enhanced practical knowledge of safety procedures, and fostered collective responsibility among students and staff. The school commits to continuous improvement in disaster risk management and readiness for future emergencies.

The Mandaluyong College of Science and Technology National Service Training Program successfully organized and implemented a bloodletting activity, Dugo Mo, Alay sa Kapwa Mandalenyo II, on February 26, 2026, at the MCST Gymnasium. This initiative was conducted in collaboration with the City Health Department, with the primary objective of promoting civic consciousness, volunteerism, and humanitarian service among students.
The activity was marked by strong participation from the NSTP students, faculty members, and other volunteers. A total of 62 donors and 52 donors were successfully contributed, thereby exceeding the anticipated turnout last year. The event was facilitated by trained medical professionals who ensured that the procedures were carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with health protocols. The donors were provided with proper orientation and post-donation care, which contributed to the smooth flow of the activity.
The success of the bloodletting program can be attributed to the collective effort of the NSTP coordinators, student volunteers, and partner organizations. Beyond addressing the pressing need for blood supply in hospitals, the activity also served as a meaningful avenue for students to embody the values of social responsibility and community service. It reinforced the NSTP’s mission of developing students into responsible citizens who are responsive to the needs of society.
In conclusion, the bloodletting activity organized by the NSTP was a significant achievement, both in terms of its immediate impact on the health sector and its long-term contribution to the holistic development of the students. The event stands as a testament to the effectiveness of collaborative efforts in fostering civic engagement and humanitarian action.

The National Service Training Program (NSTP) conducted a Project Sharon: Book Covering activity at the school library as part of its community service initiative. The primary objective of the activity was to help preserve and protect library books by covering them with plastic and properly labeling them to ensure durability and longer use.
BSIS 11 NSTP students actively participated in cleaning, organizing, and carefully covering various 136 textbooks and reference materials. The activity required teamwork, patience, and attention to detail to ensure that each book was properly protected without causing damage. Librarians supervised the process and provided instructions on the correct way of covering and handling the books.
Through this activity, students developed a sense of responsibility, cooperation, and appreciation for maintaining school resources. The NSTP book covering initiative not only improved the condition of the library materials but also promoted volunteerism and service among students.

In light of recent earthquakes in the Philippines, the College urges everyone in the MCST community to stay alert and prepared at all times.

To enhance readiness, students, faculty, and staff are advised to carry a whistle, a small flashlight, and their MCST ID or valid ID while on campus or during official activities. These items can greatly aid safety, visibility, and coordination during emergencies.

Additionally, everyone is encouraged to learn the location of evacuation routes, safety zones, and emergency procedures.

Let’s work together to foster a culture of safety and preparedness on campus.
