Wanganui Toyota

Once again Whanganui Toyota have helped me,amazing people very caring, thankyou whanganui toyota
It’s been a busy and exciting start to the year as we’ve welcomed ✨ Wanganui Toyota ✨ to our team at Manawatu & TRC Toyota. Dean Burkitt, Wanganui Toyota’s new branch manager, has begun to settle into his role this week. With a history of working for both Toyota NZ and as CFO for various fuel and transportation companies, Dean brings with him a wealth of experience, and a great sense of humor to boot.

Dean is a car enthusiast himself 💖 and takes great pride in his AC Cobra which he completed work on in 2021. He says that it’s inspirational to drive something that you’ve built yourself and he was lucky to have some help with it along the way. Dean is also dad to four daughters so is no stranger to managing a large team! You might also recognize him if you’re a hockey fan, as he played for the New Zealand Masters in 2016 and 2018, in both Melbourne and Barcelona 🏑

We’re excited to see where the year takes us. Welcome to the team Dean!

Hey guys I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone for all the support sharing, voting and commenting on my last post to help! To see so many people interact and help out makes me very grateful and excited to see so many people join our journey and help me chase those big dreams! A massive congrats to James Penrose Motorsport and Callum Crawley for smashing out the Castrol role! We will be working hard over the summer break to get on the grid for the New Zealand Grand Prix and I hope to see you all there! I’m so happy to be home and can’t wait to catch up with family and friends. I couldn’t thank you all enough for these amazing opportunities!

I want to take this chance to say how much my family will miss the Nesslings,
I met them many years ago,and they supported the buissnes that I worked for,
Our family brought 6 cars/trucks from them over the yrs and have had them serviced with Toyota ever since. Richard Nessling hand picked my daughter's 1st car and her 2nd which he brought in to NZ for her,he opened up the work shop for her on a Saturday so she could get it wof'd,coming from wellington, and gave her a loan car when it failed,
Michelle Nessling took my calls anytime, when my Ford broke down in the paraparas, and towed us in..(my fault for having a Ford)Richard told me.
Nicole Marks took my calls, and squeezed our vehicles in for anything.
Our community will miss you .
So, from me, Sophia Tipiwai Brett ,and my family, thankyou,
Thank you for the excellent service I received from your reception staff and servicemen yesterday. Couldn’t ask for more pleasant and obliging people. 😃

Hi everyone! We look forward to working with you all again this year.

Yes, it is that time again! Last year our community put together 216 boxes that were distributed through jigsaw whanganui to local families.
We will be partnering with them again this year, as well as Posh Comfort, Footloose Wanganui, Kelly's Footwear and Wanganui Toyota.

We will have the boxes with labels inside, and some printed gift sheets and flyers available to pick up from Wanganui Toyota from Monday, 21st October through Thursday, 5th December.

**The shoeboxes will be under the table, just inside the front door at Toyota. There are gift idea sheets for both children and adults, as well as, instructions, flyers and extra labels all on top of the table. Feel free to grab what you need. All the shoeboxes already have a label inside. If you need them delivered please let me know. Brent and I will be collecting shoeboxes and adding more as they become available from our local supporting shoe stores.**

All boxes must be turned in to Wanganui Toyota by 6th December, unless pick-up has been arranged.

We will be collecting larger group donations from schools, businesses and organisations on 6th December, provided they contact us to schedule their pick up time before 2nd December.

We do accept cash donations which all will go toward buying items to put in shoeboxes and wrapping paper for those who don't have time to shop or wrap, or will be out of town. Cash donations are must be deposited by 22nd November so we have time to shop, wrap and meet the deadline. PM me for bank details.

Gifts will be distributed to local families by Jigsaw Whanganui again this year.

We can now get started supporting those less fortunate in our communities for the holidays. Feel free to message me with any questions.

Below are the updated Flyer, Instruction Sheets, Distribution Labels, and Gift Ideas for 2019 (Please note the flyer will be updated as Sponsors are added.)

Be sure to 'like' and 'follow' our page to keep up to date with how it is going and to look at pictures from previous years.

Thanks Mate we really appreciate this !

On Monday 19th July I got the news that I’d lost a friend. Richard Nestling. As you might have seen Wanganui Toyota on the side of a few of my race cars. I meet Richard back in 2018 he was such a happy, cheerful and easy person to talk to. When he came onboard to help out I could feel how passionate and driven he was about helping other people. He was so supportive in many ways and helped anytime he could. Richard and the crew at Wanganui Toyota have made a massive difference in helping me throughout my career. I will dearly miss my mate Richard. Rest In Peace. My condolences go out to all of his family, friends and the whole team at Wanganui Toyota.

🌙 Here we have a great read on the full moon tonight !

Who's going to be watching ? 👀

Morning all.
Well tonight we look to the cosmos for a special occasion...
The first total lunar eclipse in more than two years coincides with a Super moon this evening and is the first blood Super moon since 1982.
While Wednesday night sees our second and largest Super Moon of the year rise at 4.59pm, a total lunar eclipse also occurs from 11.11pm.
Lasting about 14 minutes, the eclipse makes for a fascinating night’s viewing and given our current conditions, the whole of Taranaki should get a look.
Fine weather is the order of the day and with gradually fading southeast winds, we can expect a clear sky this evening.
What makes it even better - especially for photographers - is that the Moon actually rises 15 minutes ahead of sunset.
What it means is that the sun’s rays are shining directly at the Moon’s surface before it sets.
Many will have noticed (and especially over the last few days) how the colour at sunset quickly changes just before, during and after the sun goes down.
With the moon rising at 4.59pm and the sun setting at 5.14pm, it allows for about a half hour window where all of the sunsets colours have a chance to reflect off the moon.
Some would have seen this before and early on in EWT’s history, we were able to capture the moon in all of it’s colour phases as it rose.
The one thing we don’t need is a ‘white’ sunset...
While they are very bright, white is not a colour and offers little for moon rises other than crater clarity.
Anyway, it looks set to be quite a show, so we look forward to seeing and hearing about what people see.
As for our weather today, it’s pretty simple...Fine weather, with gradually fading south easterlies…
The Low which has brought all the windy weather is finally departing out into the Pacific and light winds should return tomorrow.
However, the next system isn’t too far away and while it may be fine today and Thursday, a deterioration begins later on Friday and leads to rain on Saturday.
Temperatures remain rather tempered too with highs of only 14/15 degrees forecast for the next few days.
And lastly, just a bit of housekeeping…
With the Meteor story yesterday, EWT had one of its biggest days so far.
The response and sheer number of comments and anecdotes was amazing...Many thanks to all.
But there was some conjecture regarding the green meteor photo we used to show what had happened.
In the News game, where breaking news doesn’t allow for an actual on the spot photo, we generally use what is known as “stock” photos to represent what the story is about.
Luckily, there were so many descriptions of what people saw on Sunday night, that we were able to find a photo which mirrored what people said they’d seen.
This comment from one of our Followers summed it up nicely...”The photo you guys have posted looks exzactly the same as last night!! AMAZING SIGHT TO SEE.”
So there you have it…
Our photo this morning is another ‘Stock’ photo of a Blood Moon to represent what will happen tonight.
Sometimes with weather, you just have to put the cart before the horse…lol.
Cheers to all.
Eyes on the skies.
