Whanganui & Partners event funding opens

Event funding applications are now open through Whanganui's economic development agency! It has been wonderful to see our city boosted by the Wanganui Boxing Association's NZ Amateur Boxing Champs and HoopNation Junior Showcase over the past fortnight. These fantastic events remind us of what we've been missing and demonstrate the positive impact of hosting events.

We're in the mood for views and Whanganui River meeting the sea is one of our all-time favourites.

If we follow the coast, dramatic cliff faces stretch towards Taranaki. In the opposite direction, the river leads us back to Tongariro on a journey incomparable.

From throughout the city, we sneak glimpses of Durie Hill tower but no perspective is so beautiful as that of gazing up the tower's height to its lofty top - where it brushes the clouds.
